The property was nice, with good food choices and good primary staff. The rooms are really noisy, all of the rooms doors are facing the kids pool with noise from the pool and its bucket of water. The doors do not block any noise and it’s extremely loud after 1 am. From the time you arrive until the time you leave you are harassed by what my wife and I called the white suit guys. We checked in the hotel and were moved to the 9th floor hospitality room and we were sat down with a person in white suit who instantly tried selling us a 300 dollar romantic dinner, then they wanted to sell us overpriced trips and time shares. We finally were able to kindly decline and were brought down to the original floor we came in on where our room was. The white suit guys are everywhere and they never leave you alone. I mean never. The food overall was really good especially the bbq and specialty meals outside in main terrace each night. The first two nights were wonderful for food and entertainment. The last two nights the terrace where all of entertainment should be was reserved for wedding parties and the entertainment was put in small spaces or cancelled for dance classes rather than karaoke. Lastly, we were able to go to the steak house on the final night. They do have a non seasoned tenderloin on their menu included with all inclusive, but my wife and I chose to have their Ny Strip aged steak for 40 dollars out of pocket. Horrible. Nice hotel, not resort.

It was a very convenient resort with many activities for families.
Beautiful setting but access to the ocean is rather limited. The beach is not great. No walking along the sea.
One criticism. The music is very loud and could be taken a notch down.

We spent 5 nights in this property over Christmas holidays. Our party had 4 rooms in total. The first day we arrived before any information about the amenities and services they started convincing us to participate in their time share presentation which was annoying considering the tiredness upon arrival. The rooms were clean and modern and room service was fantastic. The outdoor activities in the morning such as Zumba and yoga were great. Our little one had the best time in the kids water park. We also enjoyed the shows at night. They offer limited number of seats on a high speed boat on Monday and Wednesday included in the all inclusive package and we were lucky to enjoy the experience. Although it was advertised as a family friendly resort we could not join our friends at some of the restaurants because we had a kid which again was very unpleasant. There were not enough chairs and towels by the pool. breakfast buffet was good but in general the food quality and options during the day were meh. If you go there have your coffee at Coco cafe, they offered one of the best tasting coffee that I've ever had. We had better food experience with other Cancun resorts. Most of the restaurants at night had average food quality (we liked the Mexican and Italian). For example the sushi restaurant was a joke and the $300 tomahawk that we ordered at the steakhouse came to the table raw. In conclusion, we liked our stay and it was better than average but not the top quality.

Booked Double Bed (4) Oceanfront: Adults (3), Child (1) with the drop-down for age, I input 16 years old (clearly a discount because she's not old enough to drink alcohol). On arrival was told by the hotel that I only paid for the three adults and I had to pay an additional $1,050 for my daughter to be admitted onto the property for our vacation!!! All Expedia emails and receipt info from my reservation only shows "Child" and hotel claimed that was "Infant" and I had to pay for my daughter. This felt very much like a known scam at check-in by the hotel staff. We have been to Cancun All Inclusives many times using Expedia! If you are booking with kids, I strongly suggest you pick a different resort and avoid the extra charge scam for children at Dreams!

Pros:
Staff is the only thing true about thw 5 star rating.
Cons:
To start the Expedia VIP tag doesn't give you anything special...everyone gets a discount coupon book. You won't be able to use that anyway as it doesn't apply to any services that are on specials, which they were during our entire stay.
They had a generator running at 3:50 AM, couldn't sleep the first 2 nights! They did move us to another room after we complained 2 days in a row....we spent the next 2 days recovering from the lack of sleep...of the pevious 2....(I have videos)
We initially paid $380, (we paid for all inclusive, so this was extra), for the petite chef experience. Which looked very fun from the video they showed me. Ended up being horrible...they mistakenly double booked another party and gave that room away, sticked us in a back room where stuff were stored. It was nothing like what was advertised to us and shown on the video. After the first 5 minutes, during which they tried to sale us a bottle of wine, which we didn't, we were left alone in the room for 55 minutes with only a salad. No one came back in. We kept seeing people going back and forth looking through the door's window, but no one came back in. I had to go out and chase someone down. The food was horrible for what we paid....kid ended up not being able to eat any of it. They did accomodate by making spaghetti with butter.......for the kids. It was so bad and borring that the kids asked to go tothebuffet.

Absolutely wonderful experience at Dreams with my family this past week. We could not be more satisfied. I can truly write an essay about it, but I'll give some highlights below. Part 1:
Beautiful property that has every possible amenity and activity you would like. Everything is clean, pristine, modern. Rooms are impeccably clean and have so many fine touches, like impressive shower rooms and toiletry gifts. Room service comes twice a DAY and the cleaning staff is so kind and helpful. The golf course is sizeable and the spa floor (9th floor) is incredible. My sister and I received deep treatment facials there. I have never felt more pampered in my life. Nelly and Monique spent every minute of our 80-minute session productively and used innumerable soothing products for us. The spa waiting rooms, treatment rooms, relaxation rooms, etc. were superb. Prepare to relax in a spa robe and slippers while sipping away at infused waters and taking in the ocean view all while being so thoroughly pampered and taken care of.
The restaurants and the coffee shop were our highlights. We quite literally spent most of the trip eating. Each place is overwhelming with the # of options. Chefs await your requests, whether that be omelets or quesadillas, etc. Breakfast at the World Cafe were superb. All servers, especially Gabriel, Daniel, and Avenamar, catered to our every need. Restaurants were delicious and versatile in cuisine, and seating was gorgeous inside and outside.

Let’s start with the sunrise, every room is equipped with a balcony that looks out to the ocean towards the east. 10/10
Breakfast, two option. There is a modern coffee shop with espresso and coffee shop type of pastries. The chocolate croissants are flaky and sweet. The other breakfast option is a buffet with hot and cold food.
Lunch, there are three options. First, there is an international buffet in thr same location as the breakfast buffet. There is a taco stand looking towards the ocean which was our favorite place for lunch and afternoon snack. There is a semi outdoor indoor area where u could get pasta, sushi, crepes and burgers.
Dinner, several restaurants are open for dinner only. Buffet options are closed. There is a steak place, an asian place, an Italian restaurant, a Mexican restaurant and a Mediterranean place.
The beach: the beach in front of the hotel doesn’t connect well to other properties and if you are someone who has to take long walks on the beach then this isn’t the property for you. This beach has good amenities though.
The pool: nice pool 100 yards in length, and there is a large jacuzzi. Towel services and drink services are great
This place is also kids friendly
What I love most about this place is it’s clean and quiet, the staff are bilingual more than punta Cana and very courteous and friendly. Since all the rooms and amenities are in the same building it is very easy to get to restaurants, bars and coffee shop. 9.5/10
