Eco-Hotel El Rey del Caribe

I needed a place to stay close to the ADO central bus station, and this hotel had excellent reviews as well. I wish I had more time to enjoy the pool! Hotel is very close to bus station but relatively quiet (I did have a streetside room, and there was a screaming kid in the pool...). A little pricey for what I got out of it, but if not sola, and if I had time to use the kitchenette, it could have been a really good deal! One comment about eco-friendly -- a place where we could refill our water bottles, instead of buying it in plastic bottles would be great (other hotels I stayed at are doing this). And a comment about breakfast -- I did NOT appreciate that besides the large print on the menu, my waitperson very pointedly showed to me that a tip was not included in the (included) breakfast. I was rather insulted, as I've been tipping generously throughout my stay in Mexico. One other note -- there are two broad avenues to cross between bus and hotel -- they are not pedestrian friendly, but I managed with not-large luggage.

Our family (2 adults and 2 kids) had a great stay. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious and peaceful.
