Hotel Castillo Huatulco & Beach Club

Staff very friendly and it is a nice hotel for families

The hotel was a little bit run down but clean and the staff were great. The beach towel service was great and the pool was really nice. The food however was highly mediocre, especially at the beach club. The beach club itself was really nice but the beach there is not good for swimming if you have kids. Overall it was a good stay

We booked Hotel Castillo Huatulco upon arriving to town (we had planned on staying in Puerto Angel but everything was sold out as we hadn't planned ahead). It was a busy weekend as the first couple hotels we drove to didn't have any availability, but luckily there was a room for this place on hotels.com. We had no expectations walking in, and ended up loving our stay! The first night we didn't realize it was an all inclusive resort but loved the room (we got the penthouse suite in the back building, room 501 or something - I highly recommend it! If you don't mind climbing the stairs to get to the 5th floor it is quiet, large, and has a very comfortable king size bed. We loved it so much we booked another night all inclusive. The beach club is incredible. The shuttle takes you straight there and there is a pool and the beach plus a shaded hammock area, plus a bunch of stuff for kids - a trampoline, volleyball court, climbing gym and little soccer field. Food was super average and all buffet but water and drinks were flowing so we didn't mind it for one day.

We love this hotel ,the staff here feels like family......the pool in the garden is fabulous,and it is just minutes from local beach or you can take the shuttle to the beach club.

The hotel was great! The highlight for us was definitely the beach club - a shuttle leaves for the beach every 30 minutes or so and takes you 5 minutes up the road to a beautiful sandy private beach with a pool and tons of other activities for kids, as well as plenty of chairs and hammocks to lounge in. The food was mediocre at best (if you wanted anything good you had to order a la carte which isn't included in the basic all inclusive level) and drinks were not top shelf. But, it was a fair price. If we stayed again we would likely BYOB and not spend the money on the all inclusive. That being said, the hotel was comfortable and the amenities were nice.
