I like this hotel, but be advised that this hotel has a policy of never accomodating a late check-out or room upgrade request regardless of your Expedia status. My comments are based on having Platinum status and having stayed here multiple times over a period of many years. My experience is that most flights out of PVR leave in the late afternoon and the 11am check-out time can have you waiting in the airport vs. by the pool (or someplace else) for 3-4 hours before your flight. The hotel management doesn't seem to understand how valuable a simple late check-out time can be to a travelling family.

When I booked your hotel, the website said the stay was all inclusive. When I got to the hotel, the front desk lady said that it wasn’t all inclusive and that all inclusive would be $140 extra per day per person. It was too late to cancel because I did not have any other place to stay so I had to pass on the all inclusive. When I ask the price of the hotel if I would have booked directly with them it was half the price hotel.com charged me ( I payed 550 a night when they would have charged me 350 per night without the all inclusive) I am furious and sad to have my Christmas vacation ruined by having to pay out of pocket for meals due to this company’s lack of clarity in the description of the hotel. I am disappointed in how much I have promoted this company with friends and family after this incident.

The staff was very warm and accommodating for the whole trip. We arrived early and the room was not ready. Didn't know but Raul stayed with our bags the full time it took to get the room keys. In the main restaurant Carlos, Lorena, Paloma, & Julissa were fantastic. Friday night we had another dinner there and there was a pianist playing. All of a sudden Eduardo started singing in a beautiful voice that was totally unexpected. We had three dinners in the main restaurant and all were fantastic. We did have a buffet on Thursday night at the Mexican restaurant over at the Flamingo. The food was top shelf all the way. There was a mariachi band that made the evening. As we left, Julian & Omar saw us off. Staying a week, the staff got to know us and made us feel like family.

Loved our experience and time at Villa Estancia. The staff went above and beyond for us. Huge shout to Hilda and Fernanda for the massages, Bianca for the warm welcome and Dani over at membership sales for making us feel at home and part of the family. The eveing options were limited with nothing close by. Another negative experience, was our time at the Japanese restaurant where the food was subpar and hostess was rude. We will definitely come back here again though! Thank you Familia!

La Estancia is great - however some things have changed dramatically since our last visit (pre-covid). Prices at the little grocery store and in general are significantly higher - no doubt in attempt to recover lost income from the last couple of years. The staff are all great and very helpful. It is very quiet at the first of May - some travelers may not like that. We did. Generally 5- 25 people in the pool area. Would be great for families or those looking for clean, quiet vacation. If you want more noise - go to Flamingo next door - pay less - just not really as nice.

Dear Villa La Estancia management I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at your hotel. While I had booked an all-inclusive package, I was disappointed to find that the minibar was never stocked, despite paying for it. This was particularly disappointing for my children, who were looking forward to having some treats during our stay. Furthermore, I was disappointed to find that the shower curtain was missing from the bathroom, despite being promised that the room would be changed to rectify this issue. One of the lights in the room was also flickering, which was quite bothersome. Despite making several phone calls to request that these issues be resolved, they were never addressed. On a positive note, the spa experience was amazing, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, the issues with the room and minibar greatly impacted the overall quality of my stay at your hotel. I would appreciate it if you could address these issues and offer some form of compensation for the inconvenience caused during my stay. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Sutharsan

My family of 4 stayed here 3/31-4/1 and 4/8-4/9. Our experience on 3/31 was not good (terrible beds, run-down room, mediocre food) and we tried to cancel our booking for 4/8-4/9. We were only going to get a 30% refund, so we decided to drop by the hotel (we had a week booked elsewhere nearby) to see if we could get a full refund or a better room. They offered us a better room and that was fine for us. When we arrived on 4/8 to check in, we were early so we had lunch and hung around until our room was ready. No biggie. When our room was ready, we got our keys and luggage and headed to our upgraded room. It was a beautiful room with a single king bed. For a family of 4. No sofa bed or anything. Went back to the front desk and the man at reception was surprised there was only was bed. They put us in a different room with 2 queen beds. It was just fine for us space-wise. Unfortunately the room was located right above the restaurant so we had food exhaust smells late into the night and super early in the morning. Plus, the a/c vent was filthy and the shower head was moldy. I mean, I know we weren’t staying long and we weren’t all-inclusive, but for a 4 star hotel, I really expect better. When we checked out, the same man at reception didn’t really seem to care that we had 2 not-so-great experiences. Sorry, Villa la Estancia we will not be back, not will we recommend it to anyone we know. There are plenty of places to stay in Nuevo Vallarta—la Estancia should not be on your list.

Beautiful property, mediocre room. Beds were super uncomfortable. It kind of looks like they put all their attention into the lobby, pool and common areas. Rooms needed some love. Check-in was a bit overwhelming—they sell you on stuff left and right, trying to get you to buy into the timeshare. We had just come in from the airport and after we got our room keys, we were promptly taken by another lady who told us about all these discounts if you sit and listen to their presentation. Pretty annoying after a long day of travel. We ate at La Casona for dinner that night—food was fine (nothing great), but service lacked. A lot. They couldn’t coordinate to get our meals out at the same time. Wine list was ridiculous—$100+ for a $20 bottle anywhere else. Pool was lovely and the kids enjoyed playing in and under the waterfalls. Overall, it was just okay. Can’t say I’d want to come back.

We went on a family vacation. Our first full day there my daughter ate something at the resort and she became so ill I had to have a Doctor come to the resort to give her IV fluids and medicate her. She missed the whole vacation as she did not start feeling better until we left. The resort doctor was a $75 fee for examination and then she was unable to do anything except refer us to the ER. The same day she became ill my son left his brand new Ray Bans at the bar. We were initially told the bartender had them and put them away and we could pick them up the next day. The next day the glasses were no where to be found. Don't want to believe the staff stole the sunglasses but it sure left a bad feeling. No one at the resort really seemed to care that my daughter became ill from eating the food at the resort or that my son's glasses were stolen. We also met another guest who's son became violently ill from the resort as well~ she tried to help us more than the employee's at the resort

Not worth the price. Bad food, rude service. Bad air conditioner. Good rooms, good for kids.
