Miyako City Tokyo Takanawa

Generally the room was good, however, rooms were very small. The staff were not very polite. - There were ham and cheese sandwiches being freshly made at breakfast, I asked to get them without ham (as Muslims we are not allowed to eat) and first day they gave it, but second and third day they refused to. - At the time of check-out I requested to get a late check-out as we were travelling with a baby but they asked us to pay 2,000YEN per hour

The room was very small. We were 2 adults and a toddler. Also we tough there was a restaurant for dinner but only lunch and breakfast/ prices were a little high compare to what we have paid in Japan. The employees are nice but a little cold.

Clean, convenient, and great service, including some English-speaking front desk agents. I wish the kitchen was open for a proper lunch or dinner as there are little to no convenient, walkable dining options nearby (except for a very delicious family run Indian restaurant across the street).

The wooden TV console cover (in front of the bed) fell off the wall out of the blue. It smashed onto my husband, who was with my baby. my husband cushioned the impact. I cannot imagine the consequence if it hits my baby who was just standing by the bed. My husband has a red scratch across his back from the impact. we informed the reception who then sent a staff up to fix the tv console cover. We asked to change room cos it was dangerous for our baby, only to get the response along the line of how all rooms are designed the same. There is no point for us to change the room. We questioned if similar case ever happened, staff admitted so, explaining what we understood as the screws cannot hold the weight well. We gave up asking for a change of room and used our luggage to block the piece of wood from falling again. It’s alarming how they are aware this is a potential hazard but nothing is done?

We had a great stay at this hotel. Staff are really kind and efficient. Room was quite small but well arranged and had a nice bathroom and a comfortable bed. It was spotlessly clean and well appointed. The room was also quiet despite being near a main road and we slept well. The hotel does not serve food in the evenings but has free snacks and soft drinks/coffee which was a nice touch. We were travelling with our (well behaved) children and it was nice that it wasn't chaotic like these things can sometimes be. I would highly recommend.
