Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa

We are traveling with small children so we have a stroller and a bunch of stuff. It was an inconvenience because the hotel is on a hill and need to take shuttle to get there. Nothing close to the hotel as far as food. Rooms were old and dated. Mattresses old and room smelled old. Had to check out early because of those reasons. Staff was friendly.

The room is spacious, especially for Japan where the rooms usually only fit a bed. It looks like a business hotel but we have a one year old child and it was totally fine. We didn’t dine in any of the restaurants but they looked very nice. The room could have actually been cleaner — it looks like there were some spots that were missed vacuuming (I found a dried cranberry and a piece of feta cheese on the floor). It’s pretty minor but we have a baby crawling around the floor. The hotel is located on the top of the hill so be prepared to walk up and down when heading to the station. If you have many or large suitcases, you’d definitely benefit from taking a taxi or the free hotel shuttle to the train station.
