Was really disappointed to find out the pool has a huge fee for using it for 6 hours and you have to reserve it, plus kids under the age of 16 can only be there a limited time - it didn’t say when we booked it! Hotel staff was nice and breakfast as well.

The hotel is nice. Very clean and I had a beautiful view of the bay. The hotel is conveniently located next to the Yurikamome Train - 3 mins walk. However, if you're going into the city center, it really is a "journey". It can take anywhere from 25 to 35 mins to make it to your connecting trains. Add another 10-15 mins to your next stop. In total, it can take 35-50 mins to most Tokyo attractions. Not ideal for younger children. I also had a minor issue at check-in. I had booked the hotel through Hotels.com for 2 adults and 2 kids and paid for breakfast for 4 quests. When I got there, the room that I had booked apparently only had 3 beds and made for "3 guests". Therefore I only got vouchers for 3 guests for breakfast. They were able to "push the beds together" and "made exceptions" to give me additional breakfast vouchers that I already paid for...When they pushed the beds together, you can sleep up to 6 (they did try to upsell me to a room that was 4 times bigger than what I had for twice the cost). Breakfast was also mediocre. None of the hot items were really hot. They were luke warm and sometimes cold - for example, the bacon, sausages, and fries were barely warm. Read the fine print...the pool is not free. I tried to take our family to the pool only to find out that you have to make reservations and it costs 5000 yen per person ($US32/person), not the 2200 that is advertised. Even as a guest, there are no discounts. If we go back it will not be at this hotel.

All in all we had a nice stay at Grand Nikko. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. For our next stay in Tokyo we have chosen a more central hotel, since it does take time to go to Daiba by train. The station is right near the hotel though, which is nice. Also easy to get to Haneda airport from the hotel. Breakfast was okay, but we have had better for a 5 star hotel. The pool was nice, but we only went there once, since “kids” up to sixteen years old are not allowed to ude the poolafter 17.00 o’click. Also you have to pay to use the pool, and even 3000 yen extra per person if you want a sun bed. So all in all not what we expected.

Wonderful stay at Grand Nikkko! My family and I stayed in a quadruple room for a week and it was spacious as well as really clean. Customer service was great. And great location with plenty of food and shops in walking distance.

Travelled with family and used the executive lounge after we arrived for some refreshments, which did not disappoint. The staff are extremely friendly and professional, we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Breakfast the next day was beyond fantastic with absolutely breath-taking views. Highly recommend trying the Tokyo French toast.

Pros - rooms are large for Japanese standards. Clean and modern. Cons - not very family friendly. You need to pay to use the pool, 200AUD for a family of 5! This is not mentioned when booking. You are also out a little further from city town so Metro Train is more expensive.

Housekeeping services was excellent, our family liked the hotel location as it's not too crowded. Hope the hotel would consider installing a bigger tray inside the corner standing bath as the tray is only big enough for the body shampoo and we have to put the hair shampoo and hair conditioner on the floor.
