Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyobashi

Slightly disappointed with our stay in June 2024. Upon entering the room, the bathroom had a urine smell. We let it go for about 24 hours before going down to the front desk to inquire about cleaning our rooms (we had two rooms). There was some miscommunication, as it was believed that we had placed a notice on the door requesting only towels to be changed and garbage to be taken out. However, we had made a request with the front desk to have the room cleaned the next day, yet the bathroom still smelled like urine. This wasn’t my first time staying at a Mitsui Garden property, and I don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a hotel where the bathroom smells like urine. Considering how much we paid, the bathroom should’ve been cleaned better. This left an impression on my family, as it was our first time visiting Tokyo. We were also charge additional tax upon arrival. However, the lounge view, coffee/tea service with snacks in the late afternoon, and the breakfast served were pretty good, which somewhat made up for it. But we won’t be returning to this property. We should’ve followed our gut instinct and chosen another hotel. We went with this property because of its proximity to Tokyo Station.

Booked 4 superior queen rooms for a family of 8. Then was told there’s only 1 room type per level so all 4 rooms will be on 4 different levels. So in the end, we downgraded 2 of the rooms to stardard twin room so that we are only spread over 2 levels with no refund. Then we noticed the twin rooms have toiletry sets missing which is present in the superior queen rooms. Initially hotel insist that it’s because we downgraded, until we request to speak to manager before they relented to provided similar service in the twin rooms. Sensed inflexiblity in the system and management team. Otherwise location is good, room is clean. Bath tube available. Complimentary guest lounge 3-10pm is a really nice bonus. No gym.

The rooms on this property are big compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at in Tokyo. I go to Tokyo twice a year for business and by far this has been the most comfortable in terms of space and location. The staff is very helpful and hospitable! I would recommend to anyone whether you have a family or traveling on your own. Two blocks from Tokyo station and convenient shopping at the basement of Tokyo Station!
