Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei

I forgot my favorite Mcqueen jacket in the room and figured out two days after check out. The hotel staff kept it nicely for me. I still remember the counter staff greeted me with a big smile with the paper bag and said , “It has been waiting for you patiently.” I feel so warm and glad that I have stayed in Mitsui Garden. I stayed in the junior suite with my baby and family. It’s a super big and nicely decorated room. Highly recommend to everyone with toddlers or kids. And most importantly, they have a network tv 📺 that I can show to my toddler his favorite cartoon on youtube. 😌

The hotel itself was absolutely gorgeous! Perfect stay for us wanting to see some traditional Japanese architecture with some amazing service! Staff were very kind and helpful, room was clean and very cool looking, and our breakfast was tasty! Overall great place to stay and would recommend to my friends and family!

We are a family in 3 rooms for 6 nights inc. Breakfast. After first day we asked to cancel the breakfast for all the rest 5 days as we couldnt eat anything . The food is not for western. We were told we cant cancel the breakfast so we didnt enter the restaurant for breakfast for the rest 5 days ( 3 rooms). A lot of money was paid for nothing

We a family of 3 (2 adults and one 11 year old child) are very satisfied with our stay at this hotel. We stayed in a double bed room for 2 nights and 1 breakfast at the hotel. Location: Fantastic. I love that it’s easy access to many attractions on foot like the Nishiki market (about 15 min) or Kiyozumi Temple (45 min) walk or dinner at Kamogawa River (25min) or explore the Gion area at night. There are many cafes and restaurants nearby too. Facilities: my family enjoyed the hotel’s Japanese public bath. The drop off/delivery of luggage from the hotel to Mitsui hotel just next to Kyoto station was convenient (¥300 per piece) since we were doing more sightseeing in Kyoto. Breakfast : it was convenient and good experience to be able to try Kyoto’s style food at breakfast since the hotel’s restaurant is pretty well known and quality was satisfactory but I would rather try similar but cheaper breakfast nearby. And spend more on lunch or dinner elsewhere.

We booked the room for 3 people 1 adult, 16 yrs old, 12 yrs old and paid for breakfast as well. When we checked in, we were told that the breakfast fees collected were for only 2 adults and need to pay for 1 child. There was no indication on the reservation page or on the confirmation that we needed to pay for 1 child at check-in. It would have been better there if was a note at the reservation page that child’s breakfast fee will be collected at check-in as cost is one of the factors we consider to decide whether to have a breakfast at facility or not. To be fair, the breakfast itself was excellent. It worth the price but it’s not cheap, especially after paying more for a child. Hotel location was great, hotel staff were attentive and facility was super-clean. The big bath was very nice, too.

Lovely clean hotel which is within walking distance to nishiki market. Also close to bus stops that take you to all the families shrines.
