Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Kawaramachi Jokyoji

Great location. Wish they had larger rooms for families having more than 3 persons. This is great place for a couple to stay. Breakfast is really good with 3 traditional Japanese options or an American option.

This is one of the more modern hotels we stayed at during our trip to Japan. It is conveniently located steps away from the Teramachi shopping area and the excellent Nishiki food market located within. Transportation options are adequate, although getting a cab from the main station to the hotel would probably be a good idea. The breakfast option (extra) is highly recommended -- it really is unlike most -- a high cuisine experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. The public bath is nice and added comfort to our stay. The staff was very helpful. In summary, our family made a good choice.

Great location, close to subway station and attractions. There’s a family mart right next to the hotel. Room size is decent, staffs are friendly.

The reason I picked this hotel is because it's the only "temple hotel" and will provide special morning-routine experience. However, we were not informed ahead or at the check-in that the temple was closed. My family planned to check out the temple and join the morning-routine experience, and the hotel staff only told us that "oh, the temple was closed this week" when we asked where the temple was. The service and experience is disappointing. If we were told that the temple was not available that week, we may choose other accommodation option instead.
