Good Nature Hotel Kyoto

Good nature hotel was a fine hotel for our family stay. The breakfast was adequate, rooms were clean and spacious, and hotel was in a great location.

The staff at the reception were extremely helpful and friendly. One staff member (I didn’t get her name) spent time to help me make reservations at a restaurant because the website was only in Japanese. She helped me solve a couple of problems during this time and made sure I even received the reservation confirmation. I asked for other suggestions of restaurants and she helped me with that too. There were no more room upgrades available (as this hotel was a VIP one), but I received some money vouchers, which was useful. The family room that I got was already very spacious and it was extremely clean; as was the rest of the property. The hotel’s location is very convenient, steps away from metro lines, buses, stores, and the river!

Excellent modern hotel. Spacious for family of four. The hotel is close to subway station, restaurants and shopping.

Great location, service was fast and prompt and hotel room was clean and spacious. Our family of four was extremely comfortable at Good Nature Hotel for four nights. Shopping and restaurants are 5 minutes away and train station, bus stop and taxi cabs very close to get you to sightseeing destinations.

This is designed as a healthy, eco hotel but isn’t. The room was large and comfortable (if dark) but the other facilities were sub-standard for the price. The breakfast in particular needs to be called out as being below the standard you would expect for the price and how the hotel was marketed. The breakfast buffet was extremely crowded with kids under 5 running around touching the buffet options and carrying heavy trays across a crowded room. Worse though was the choice of breakfast food for Westerners: cold pizza and macaroni cheese. Oh, and cold scrambled eggs. Frankly the breakfast was disgusting. We felt pushed into a dark corner of the restaurant by staff and didn’t enjoy our experience at all. The hotel was absolutely full of young families who we’re very noisy. I was kept awake by children running up and down the corridor screaming. Post covid more effort needs to be made to bring this hotel up to the standard expected for the price.
