Duodo Palace Hotel

We had a junior suite with a canal view 9if you were prepared to lean out of the window) on the third floor. Good size room,lighting a little on the dim side and somewhat short of convenient electrical outlets. The bathroom was a good size but could have done with more shelving and while the shower was good the positioning of the towel rack was (to my mind ) in the wrong place as I bumped into it on several occasions when turning round. A non slip mat would have been useful to prevent slippage whilst in the bath taking a shower. The toilet seat lid would not stay up so it was rather annoying for me (the man) when taking a pea and having to stand with my leg against it. I mentioned this to hotel staff on at least 2 occasions but nothing was done. The breakfast buffet could have been a bit more extensive though it was adequate, but the siting of it ,on top of a cupboard which held extra plates and utensils etc meant that if there was a shortage of any particular item then you had to stand aside whilst this was obtained. The location of the hotel was pretty good for most main attractions and also the waterbus service once you found your feet. All in all it was a pleasnt stay but I would not rate the hotel as 4 star.
