FH55 Hotel Calzaiuoli

Amazing! Excellent location. Excellent air conditioning. Excellent front desk staff. Excellent servers at breakfast. Excellent housekeeping. We are a family of 4 including 2 teens. We booked two rooms. Our day started with an abundant spread for breakfast (granola, cheese, pastries, espresso drinks) in an elegant dining room. We would explore the city in the morning, have lunch at a restaurant, and recover in the hotel air conditioning during the peak heat of the afternoon (we were there in mid-July). We booked a train to the Cinque Terre and when we asked the front desk to schedule a taxi in the morning, the front desk person (Fatmir?) explained that the trains were going on strike. He was our hero because he researched the trains and determined our train was not guaranteed. He advised us that the train may reach the destination, or quit along the way, or not show up at all. So, we decided not to take the train and it really saved us. Our train never reached its destination and my family would have been stranded. He really saved our vacation!

Very comfortable and perfect for our family. Centrally located. Only thing is the hairdryer only worked for about 30 seconds at a time. Otherwise it was wonderful. I would stay here again.

Our family stayed here for five days at Christmas and we were very impressed with every aspect of this hotel. The rooms have an elegant simplicity and the breakfast is superb. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. While we were there, our daughter became quite ill. I spoke to the person at the front desk about seeing a doctor, and a very fine physician was at our room within half an hour. This was typical of the quality of service at this hotel. We would love to stay here again on our next visit to Florence.
