Ballarò Hotel

I contacted the property beforehand and I was told that i could have 2 single beds in my room. When i checked in i was told the property doesnt have any single beds except in the family rooms. The fact i was outright lied too just so they could have my money darn right rude! I didnt get any sleep and it ruined my trip.

This was the most amazing hotel experience - from behind the entrance to the street it was like entering another world - a palatial old worldly mansion. The new hotel tucked up inside was perfectly clean . We had a 4 bed room with massive amount of space, high ceilings , bathroom , aircon & spotlessly clean . The staff were so welcoming & friendly & breakfast was ideal. Unfortunately I can’t give 5 stars as the neighbourhood felt very unsafe - and travelling with kids it was quite daunting. Would have felt quite fearful if we couldn’t get through the main gate quickly. For adults looking for a slice of the majestic old world Palermo it would be fine. Very convenient to Quattro Canti … 7mins - straight road.

My experience of Ballaro is good, clean and good location but your expectation may vary. It is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for. Me with wife and daughter had a 'family room' which was good, 2 rooms with shower. This should be pointed out, not all rooms have bathroom so see check what you book. Staff I saw at check-in and breakfast but I had contact on whatsapp if something was needed. We stayed two nights to have a day in Palermo before getting to the airport. If I ever again need one or a few nights in Palermo I could very well stay at Ballaro again.

What an incredible place to stay in Palermo. We couldn’t believe we found it. The hotel is on the second floor of a palazzo once owned by the Filingieri family, the same family that owned the Palazzo Mirto. It’s a great feeling to walk out of a palace each morning before settling off to explore Palermo. The staff could not have nicer and more helpful. Our room was stunning. A wonderful stay
