Hotel Kalura

Rooms a bit dated, very quiet but beautiful views. Rooms need updating. Pool good staff great. Receptionist all great. Food average we went as a family of 5 not a lot of choice for the teenagers. We got a taxi down to the church and walked down the steps to cefalu by the beach it was beautiful and restaurants amazing we ate there every night. Bar good in hotel but no entertainment at all at night one night they had a piano player but that was it. Had a pool table my teenager liked that but nothing else for them to do. Overall great hotel but as I said rooms need updating as very old fashion and basic hotel and staff are great apart from the above.

Beautiful hotel with a private beach, amazing breakfast, spectacular views from the balcony. Rooms were quite uncomfortable with too little space for 2 adults and kids. Air condition only in the main room and very uncomfortable chairs in the room and at the balcony. Hotel restaurant lacked air conditioning and it was really difficult to eat breakfast. The rooms need to be improved but overall a nice and clean hotel. Great beach, free sunbeds, large pool, tennis court and very good food at the restaurant.

We enjoyed our stay in the apartment. The view is sensational, the apartment spacious, the staff friendly although not as knowledgeable as you might expect (we asked about things to do with kids and were told there wasn’t anything only to find a soft play place in town). They did recommend good towns to visit and nice restaurants however. Only complaint is that the apartments are a 10-12 minute walk to the hotel which was shut for the winter anyway. This wasn’t mentioned in any of the details. All it said was “separate building” when it should say “separate location” highlighting that there is no access to facilities! We chose the hotel because of the facilities but they were all closed which was immensely disappointing. Once we adjusted we enjoyed our stay but there is nothing to do nearby with small children with the hotel being unavailable, it is a 30m walk into town so you need a car. Nice apartment but missing a few necessities like olive oil so you have to buy everything from a supermarket the other side of a busy town, enjoyed our stay just a shame we were missold.
