Hotel De Ville

Bad bad area of town. Never felt safe inside or outside this hotel! The area near the main train station looks nice and has nice hotels. My phone was stolen. The sketchy people outside the hotel are stalking the tourist. This hotel entrance is in the middle of a McDonalds! All the shops near this hotel are gross filled full of junk from middle eastern people. Not a true Italian vacation experience at all! Just gross unsafe area! Beds are hard, pillows are flat, Lobby is in the kitchen, noisy starting at 6am when they start breakfast. Ask for new room but they said no. Could not sleep for 3 days! Not a 4 star hotel in US standards at all. More like a 3. 2 wonderful staff. Day front desk lady and night front desk man. Very helpful when my phone was stolen. Rest of staff does not dress appropriately junky street close. Would not stay here ever again. If I have to come back to Genoa and stay there for another cruise I will only stay near the train station. In one of those nice hotels. Don’t let the fact that this is by the aquarium fool u. Defiantly not kid friendly area. Pass on this hotel if you care about your safety!

The hotel is located right next to Genoa port and the aquarium . This can be problematic if you arrive by car since it's sometimes difficult to park for unloading near the hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful with unique decoration and style. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a large bathroom but a bit dark with a small window. Breakfast costs 12 euro for adults (half for kids), and it's very high quality where you can order multiple items from a menu in addition to the buffet. Employees are very kind and helpful

One of the only hotels I could find with 2 beds. This was a beautiful room with 2 floors and 2 bathrooms and a spiral staircase. Staff was friendly and efficient and gave us lots of information about the surrounding area, places to eat and visit. Only stayed 1 night before a cruise but it was memorable. Right across from the waterfront where all the action is. Perfect for family travel.
