NH Collection Genova Marina

If you are after a quiet hotel to stay at - this hotel is definitely NOT for you. Stayed 2 nights and barely got any sleep. It’s not the hotel itself - the room was nice and the staff were friendly. It was inconsiderate guests. It’s a very family friendly hotel. Our room was near the lifts so we heard everyone! From 15 minute loud conversations in front of our room late at night to screaming babies all night in an opposite room. Loads of kids yelling, running, bashing on our door and even playing basketball in the hall.

This hotel couldn’t have a better location! Perfectly situated right beside the Neptune ship, the aquarium and the nautical museum, right on the port with a wide array of restaurants nearby, it was wonderful for our young family. It was very walkable to everywhere we wanted to visit. The rooms were clean and updated with all amenities you would expect and desire. The buffet breakfast was included and had a wide selection of hot and cold menu items, freshly squeezed juice, and very pleasant staff in a beautiful location. My only remark would be that they desperately need more plugins in the room, especially beside the bed and the basic wifi didn’t work most of the time. Other than these two small negatives, the stay was perfect!

A standard chain hotel, suitable for business people. No character or charm. Staff professional and efficient. Location on waterfront, and easy walk to most of the main sights but next to motorway. Very busy area with a lot of noise from tourists (bouncy castle with screaming children) and traffic such as ambulances with sirens. Room was shabby, scuffed furniture, damaged wallpaper. Had the expected facilities - good bed, crisp linen and soft towels, TV, minibar etc - but some eccentricities - mini bar was in a cupboard behind a TV on a stand, toilet roll holder somewhere behind your left shoulder made it difficult to reach the paper, shower not very powerful and shower head flopped down unless it was propped. Extensive breakfast but cooked dishes looked unappealing (scrambled egg looked positively unpleasant). Dinner menu didn't tempt us.

If you want to visit the aquarium you couldn't choose a more convenient location. Many other attractions nearby. Hotel more than, no complaints other than room being overheated. Good choice at breakfast, recommend for families.
