Hotel Suite Ares

This was my second time staying at the Hotel Suite Ares (my first was last summer), this time with my partner and our 10-month-old baby. The hotel is in a good location from both the train station and the historic center of Naples, and it is comfortable and convenient with an ample breakfast in the morning. More than anything though, what I most want to emphasize from my stay here is the excellent service provided by the hotel staff. Carmine not only remembered me from last year, but he and his colleague Orlando both did all they could to help make us comfortable and enjoyable—from ordering us taxis to helping us with parking our car to giving us non-touristy restaurant recommendations and more. I am very glad that we chose to stay here again.

The staff was very nice and attentive. The area is safe, being you are at the main avenue, and there is a lot of foot traffic. The receptionist greeted us kindly and with recommendations. Loved the mural in the room, such a personal touch. You can tell it is hand painted. Also, the balcony has a motorized shutter which gave privacy and no light no entry, but cannot do much about the noise outside. We had kids playing outside in the middle of the night for two hours. Cute, but also, why aren't they in bed in the middle of a weeknight? haha.. The complementary breakfast was nice. Had some options for your basic needs. Good luck if you are vegan or gluten-free. I am not, but watch out for those who are. Oh also, the shower is small, which I have no problem with, but there is no escape from the curtain sticking to your body... Hopefully, there is a change of the curtain to a door one day. No big deal, overall, I would stay there again if I went back.

Very kind and helpful personnel. Super easy access to metro and Hop on Hop off Bus, BUT in a very dirty and rough part of town. It did not feel unsafe, but unpleasant to walk around. Huge room with separate areas for family traveling together. Unswept floors, mold-smelly bathroom and fabric shower curtain. Great A/C and the only hotel during our trip that allowed us individual room control temperature in April. Decent free breakfast.
