We were in Galway as part of a longer family vacation. I chose this hotel because it had good reviews and reasonably priced. I was pleased that it was so close to the train station. If we ever return to Galway I would stay there again.

Hotel is very accessible to everything as it is right on eyre square. We had a nice room but on the front street which is extremely loud especially on a weekend. We did not sleep much because of this, windows aren’t sound proof at all. The hotel is clean but there are some obvious things being missed. Top of the bed was covered in dust, the lights were dusty and the shower tray was also dirty. our friend stayed down the hall from us in a much more dated room with stain coloured wallpaper and the floor hadn’t been hoovered from the previous guest with adult themed wrappers left on the floor. If I had of been staying with my young family in that room I’d have been appalled. The staff at reception were very friendly upon check in/out. The bar staff were less than welcoming. Upon entering the bar we could see staff were cleaning, meaning the bar was closed, it was our first time in the hotel bar. As we approached the bar to ask for water the waitress looked very annoyed and asked quite abruptly ‘what do you want’ my husband asvised her ‘only water to take to the room’. The staff member looked at us as if we’d asked her to donate blood. Very rude and uncalled for towards anyone, never mind paying guests. I addressed it with her then but I feel a manager needs to address this also. Overall the hotel is fine and well located but I doubt we’ll stay here again with other options available and potentially more clean and welcoming.

We had an amazing stay at Eyre Square Hotel. The hotel services were amazing. Everyone went out of the way to make us comfortable. The Merchant Bar, Restaurant & Cafe was top notch! The location is perfect, within walking distance to everything. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Apparently they’re in the process of upgrading their rooms; I clearly got a non upgraded room. It was very old fashioned and needs a refresh. Also the soundproofing is non existent. You can hear everything that happens in the hallway, and people got pretty rowdy around midnight on the Friday I was there. Also several families were staying near me and I could hear everything. That said, the location is PERFECT. The restaurant is pretty good, there are many other restaurants, parks, pubs, etc, in close walking distance, and there’s a small supermarket literally across the street.

A good location for accessing the sites of Galway and the nightlife scene of the Latin Quarter. My room was simple, but comfortable (we slept like babies after our all-night flight the prior evening). There is a a decent restaurant bar adjoined to the property, which is nice, though we preferred to wander around the Latin Quarter. Note that being near the Latin Quarter means that it can be a bit noisy in the evenings, especially in the summer when you want to have the window open. Also be aware that there is no parking on the premises - you'll need to park your car in a garage that's a 5-10 minute walk away. Overall, I'd say it met our needs.
