This is. lovely, fashionable hotel on the hill in Cork. Te restaurant and bar have wonderful views of the city. You can easily walk to restaurants although its a little bit more of a walk than some other hotels (that was a plus for us- we need to walk off the food and wine). The highlight is definitely the Glasshouse Bar where I could spend every evening for the rest of my life. They had a wonderful lounge singer one night and the waiters had the friendly Irish charm you hear so much about. Our one critique would be the front desk staff. We arrived and they told us they had upgraded us to a bigger room "more accessible" which we took as better location. They actually put us in a handicap room with an extremely awkward bathroom situation that I wish I had taken a picture of because you basically rolled into a do it all spot in the middle of the bathroom and the sink was 3 feet off ground. We requested the type of room we had booked and were punished with an underground level room close to parking lot and elevator. We later asked for change for tipping purposes and was also rudely rebuffed. They also asked if we wanted to add breakfast to our room which we thought was included but when it was not we said we would just decide in the morning if we wanted to eat at the hotel or go out. She said "Ill just charge you in case." I thought she was kidding but alas when we checked out she had charged us and we had gone into town for breakfast.

Recently stayed here for a Christmas family reunion. The rooms are clean, beds not very comfortable a few of us have back pain since! The hotel is getting a bit tired looking and could do with an uplift. As a large family we booked a few hotel rooms and an apartment. The apartments are certainly not luxury as the brochure states. As it was during the new year festivities the hotel was extremely but the staff were always helpful and accommodating. Great location for our requirements, would like to see a lick of paint for our next stay!

Room was extremely warm and no air conditioning. There was a strong smell of cigarettes in our room even though it was non smoking. The swimming pool was no way suitable for very small children, water was freezing and should be warmer for babies/toddlers and no supervision. Parking was a pain. I don't think we would stay there again.

I stayed Friday 14th August with my family.I found the hotel overall above average. My fault with the hotel would be the dated pool and dressing room area. This could really do with an upgrade and also their was no parking left at the end of the night when we got back to to the hotel. The food and service was great and the view over the city is fantastic.

Great for families. Bit far from city and no nearby restaurants etc. Extra charges for WiFi, swimming caps and lockers.

We had 2 rooms. Despite in-room safes being listed among the facilities on the website, neither of our rooms had one, so we had to carry everything around with us. There was a musty smell in the corridors. While the rooms were clean and generally comfortable, the beds were small. There was no lift from the reception area to the rooms. While there was a chair lift to accommodate wheelchair users on the steep stairs, anybody else with mobility limitations would have found the stairs very difficult. On some evenings the noise level in the bar / bistro area was intolerable with small children charging around screaming ,crying and generally creating mayhem. Our rooms were quiet and the food was very good. The staff were also very good. However, as there were'nt enough of them, service suffered, particularly in the area of room service deliveries.
