Crowne Plaza Athens City Centre, an IHG Hotel

Great hotel to stay with kids (or without). Large family room with 2 double beds. We loved the rooftop pool area. The pool was not very big but it was big enough and had a nice temperature. The pool area had sun beds and some tables and the rooftop restaurant served very nice food.

The family room was very small and disappointing. The cot for my baby was dirty. There were only 2 bath towels in our room and when we tried to ask housekeeping for more there was no answer. Restaurant service was ok. Don't be fooled by the photos, the pool was as small as our room!!

Clean, nice staff. For our family of 4 easily in one room. Hard to find at reasonable prices.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff is kind and helpful. There are lots of shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. One metro station is very close by and the metro was easy to take to anywhere. The breakfast is plentiful with pretty much anything you could imagine. The pool is pretty small and the rooms are a bit older looking. The hotel staff is really helpful in arranging any transportation needs and airport pick-ups and drop-offs. We used a baby crib and they had it set up in our room on arrival. One word of warning, they provide water each day. At check-out I was told we had a mini-bar charge and I was surprised because we did not use the mini-bar. The water they put in the fridge is the same as the ones they give free, so our family of five thought they put two out and two in the fridge to get cold for you, but no, the two in the mini-bar are paid. We had checked at the mini-bar menu at the beginning of our trip and there was no price for water listed that we saw. Typically paid water has a hanging tag or is a different brand from the free water, so I was surprised. While it’s not a big deal, it felt weird to be nickeled over the same free water that was in the fridge.

We stayed one night on our way back from Crete before leaving Greece. It was our son’s 7th birthday and the hotel sent up two cakes with a candle for our family to celebrate. They also sang “Happy Birthday” to him. It was so sweet! The breakfast is good and plentiful with choices and the hotel location is nice with lots in waking distance and a metro line is an easy walk away. Also, the hotel can arrange pick-up and drop-off transportation to the airport which was really easy and convenient for our family of 5.
