Mercure Hotel & Residenz Checkpoint Charlie

This was a great hotel with a great location. Room was spacious for a family of four and the breakfast was excellent.

Great location and great hotel for a family

The location is great and the kids love the breakfast…especially the Nutella dispenser.

After 15 hours flying from Miami to Berlin ( connections ) my 8 years old child and I arrived at this hotel around 1pm. I asked the front desk if there would be any way they could arrange us an earlier check in considering I didn’t have bay idea that we would be that tired with jetleg. They said NO. We sat on the couch located in that waiting area … I saw other guest arriving and getting rooms before us . The young guy who wears a strange earrings somewhere in his body told a guest in front of us that there was room available for them of Course. This crap should learn more about empathy towards others. The end of the story , this hotel is a very low class 4 stars hotel. I would rate this place a 1 star. I have stayed in 3 stars hotels and you cannot compare. Ops , the manager is also very arrogant when I asked to talk to her about my concerns about the cleaning people comes to my room and taking my cards away and showing up while we were downstairs for breakfast . By the way they don’t allow you to come inside if they are cleaning. I do NOT recommend this hotel .

All was great except for the noise of running children in room above. Front desk called them but it had little effect.

Beautiful hotel, but beware of tight drive below 4 floors for parking, not for faint of heart. The hotel is wonderful! The location if also outstanding! We stayed 2 nights, and had walking distance to 90% of the Berlin main attractions. You will need to cath a ride to see the palace. The staff realized that due to my mistake, they only setup the family room for 4, but we are family of 5. Without delay, they placed sofa bed and dressed it for our stay. The family room for 5 was separated into 2 rooms. kids had a double bed with sofa, we had large size room with double bed. Our room had a hidden fridge at the end of the cabinet, fully set with glasses. It was a really nice room, and great deco. The staff is amazing, gave us wonderful recommendation for "cash only restaurant" for a clasic schnitzel, it was outstanding. We will come back to this hotel in the future.

Huge family room, great location, very helpful and friendly staff, very quiet and in a brilliant central location. Most attactions within a 30 min walk.

Very good hotel, breakfast is also perfect. Rooms are big enough for family.
