Hotel Berlin, Berlin

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Berlin. It was spacious and clean, modern and updated - my kids esp loved the bunk bed option we had for our room. This was the perfect place to stay before the Berlin Marathon - it was set up great for families and runners - well located and central. I would not hesitate to suggest this hotel to anyone I know going to Berlin esp with kids.

Our room was not ready on arrival but apart from that excellent stay. Very peaceful and quiet family room, great location and good breakfast.

We stayed in a family room and the kids loved the fold down bunk beds, however the air conditioning in our room did NOT work at all and only ever so slightly cooled the room, which was incredibly uncomfortable when I had an awful stomach bug for a day during our stay and was stuck in a hot stuffy room with no cooling in the summertime. Besides that everything was clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating when we asked for a slightly later check-out. We would definitely stay here again if they would fix their AC!

The public areas in the hotel are very cool and attractive. We enjoyed spending an evening in the restaurant playing cards and listening to the DJ. The breakfast was good. The area is conveniently linked to the main sights by the no 100 bus which we found very reliable. We had a family room which was quite small for 4 of us (kids are teenagers) and there was a slight muddle about the booking, which was resolved quickly.

I woke up in the middle of my last night when a man entered our room. He apologized and left. Found out the next morning that my room had been given to a new guest and my access cards had been turned off My kids were terrified and we didnt get more sleep. I only got an apology from the staff when I complained the next morning. I also didnt get the wifi I paid for since I had to go out in the hall to even get one bar. The window in the room was leaking and obviously has been for a while since there was green mould all a round it. I could say that other than that the hotel was fine... but the things that went wrong went so specacularly wrong that it doesnt matter.

Lovely sized room (two adults, one child). Really nice popular bar area and was in a great location to see the sights/shopping/restaurants etc

I really liked the concept of the hotel and the Art gallery. It was a great idea but poor execution. We booked a King size bed but got 2 twins put together. We also asked for the top floor but instead, placed on second floor and had to deal with the constant noise. We specifically asked for a King sized bed because we had a baby with us. When we looked at room pictures online we knew that there was no space for a crib and we were ok with our baby sleeping with us for 1 night. It wasn’t a comfortable night at all because the two separate mattress toppers kept moving and she kept falling in between them. Also pillow cases were awful! They don’t even cover the pillows properly and those pillows need to be replaced! They were so dirty. Shower drain was completely clogged and I managed to take a 2-minute rinse before water started overflowing. The rest of the family had to skip showers. The self check-in concept is frustrating because it took forever! And why ask for passport information for young children?! Also there was absolutely no wifi! Breakfast was super crowded with very basic food choices. We are VIP members with the Radisson Hotels but this hotel was below their standards. It’s a shame though because I was excited to stay there when I found it online. Not a bad hotel, just needs improvement.

The fridge in our family room is moldy and black, even after personnel's cleaning, it's about time to invest and change them. The cleaning detergent for the room and for the fridge is also very aggressive. It smells very bad on the inside end of the bunk-bed bottom level. Family room (should be for 4 people) is way too small and tight (20 m) for the value.
