Hotel Adlon Kempinski

I booked a junior suite for 4 days.They gave me a suite which was like a sauna with NO A/C and very loud.I had to negotiate to move to another room.Most of staff was NOT well trained.Unacceptable way of handling my problem.

Each year I celebrate my birthday in style and usually stay at hotels where I know they’ll do a good job in looking after me. I picked the Adlon Hotel as it’s an Expedia VIP Hotel and truthfully I’ve wanted to stay for a long time. So I booked a trip to Berlin just to spend my birthday at the hotel. I reached out to them in advance to tell them I was celebrating a milestone birthday on the one night that I was staying. They acknowledged. We arrived and were told we had been ‘upgraded’ to a much smaller junior suite to the one we booked. We were tricked. The suite we booked was two different rooms. The room we were placed in was just one small cramped room on the 6th floor. I took one look at the room and asked to be placed back into the room we had paid for- thankfully they managed to put us in our standard booked suite! If they tell you that they’ve upgraded you due to your Expedia gold status- be very wary about accepting it!!!!! Now the hotel itself is clearly a 5 star and do a good job! Sadly, they failed to recognise my birthday at all. They gave me a random card to welcome me as an Expedia member, but no mention of my birthday. I messaged the hotel to explain that I had killed 4 flys in our room and that I wasn’t impressed at their attempts to downgrade our suite (dressing it up as an upgrade). They apologised and offered us free breakfast. They made it up to me the next day though with a belated birthday card and a little cake when we checked out.

I had a regular room fir first night which was much more convenient and comfortable than junior suit which was way more expensive

Nice hotel next to the Brandenburg gate. It was a treat to stay there to visit friends and family. Wonderful Concierge staff, especially Andre and Joachim members of Les Clefs d'Or! ............................................................. ......................................................................
