Idyllic, flora, fauna, several swimming pool, AC, nice room and even a mini mini zoo. Place isolated from main touristic zones, beaches beautiful and plenty of amenities. What was not idyllic at all was customer service; with the exception of Jose Luis, mgr; carlos, waiter; and two female waitresses.
Seems most employees were interested in micromanaging all aspects, and forget the goal of pleasing guests/tourists. For example:
Upon arrival from a long hot humid drive, we ended up at restaurant area before checking in. A waiter assisted us. My elderly mother (85), had pills to take. It had been 30 minutes since we had ordered and drinks which were bottled ones had not arrived. She remembered we had gatorades and she pulled it out to take her pills, a male waiter arrived with the meals and seeing her drink own, scolded her, saying: “you can’t drink your own here at the restaurant” as reprimanded children we all had to explain the reason. Late drinks, and only a zip to take pills, uncalled for.
Later on upon checking in, two male receptionists were cold and impersonal, I tried to negotiate with them an extra day, if a breakfast was provided early, as we were catching a flight at 8 in the am 1hour away airport and the breakfast should be included but customarily served at 7:30. The receptionist, a male with glasses and a skinny female would accommodate room but they were not open to arrangements for early breakfast or other option, even though we were asking with plenty of time.

This is a pleasant family-friendly resort on a beautiful stretch of beach, featuring well-maintained and safe swimming pools and some animal attractions (monkeys, parrots, macaw, turtles and alligator), along with a nice display of a typical mangrove estuary on the other side from the ocean. The food was excellent, as were the cocktails. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Some of the decor is a bit dated but that actually added to the appeal. Nearby are numerous working fishermen, and it was a site to see them launch their boats into the surf! Not much to do outside of the resort, but this is a great opportunity to enjoy the Pacific coast away from the surf crowd, and to simply relax.

We loved staying at Hotel Estero y Mar! From the moment we arrived, the staff were very attentive and friendly. The grounds are beautiful! The beach is the cleanest I’ve seen in the country. It’s beautiful and peaceful. The room was very spacious and comfortable! They offer many options on their menu which is great. We had a very early flight and the staff managed to help us check out in a timely manner. I will definitely be going back with my family when I visit the country again. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Estero y Mar.

Ate at restaurant by the beach. Ordered ceviche The shrimp was boiled and some bell peppers were added. The fish had no Flavor, so I didn’t eat the fish. My mom and my sister ordered a plate of chicken. The chicken was like a frozen breast. We are in el Salvator we expected the real fresh chicken. The rice was borderline spoiled. My mom owns catering trucks and told my sister not to eat the rice.
I mentioned to one of the servers that the ceviche didn’t taste good. She Had someone else come and tell me they checked the taste and that my taste palette was different and there would not be any discount.
My mom then proceeded to tell her that she doesn’t want a discount but to please make sure the food is safe to eat.
My mom mentioned the rice being borderline spoiled and was told the rice was made earlier that Friday morning. So who knows if the rice was sitting out all day. After that situation we decided to check out early the following day so we would not eat any unsafe food. After the late lunch we headed back to our rooms to go to the pool. My mom pointed out there was mouse/rat droppings by the couch. mind you we have a one year old traveling with us. I called the front desk and said there is mouse droppings in room 42. The lady asked “do you want me to send someone to clean it?” I said we have a walking baby, yes. I thought that was a stupid question. My sister was throwing up all night and my mom was a mess. Note at night only the security guy is there. No front desk

We enjoyed a great quiet vacation along with my brothers and their children. The best thing was how peaceful and away from the noise of the world it was. I considered the hotel an ECO HOTEL and thats what im telling my friends. The restaurant served excellent food and above all the service was great. Service was quick and attentive to all details. The fact that all the dishes were covered with plastic wrap really struck me as an item of caring and proactiveness.
All in all we were there five days and I would visit agian gladly...which I MIGHT DO IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
\Thank you so much to all the staff and owners of the hotel it was a memorable vacation. OH by the way teh rooms were very pretty they only need tables for the suitcases.

The staff went above and beyond to care for me and my family. Seven of us traveled and we were all extremely happy with the service. I wish I would have stayed there longer. The road there allows you to see the little town. It's a poor town, don't be alarmed. The people in the town were extremely helpful too when asked for directions. A beautiful and humble community. I will continue to visit.
