Intercontinental Cairo Semiramis, an IHG Hotel

We had a great time here. Staff was very helpful and friendly. It was our first time in Egypt and we were traveling with two small children. We were very happy with this hotel.

The staff upgraded me on the first night…. For the next night which was in a separate reservation I was asked if I wanted to stay in the same room…. Then next day I tried to use my key and it didn’t work, then when I went to the front desk to get a new key after a long wait I was told I needed to change my room…. I had an argument with the manager who couldn’t be careless and had to go with my kids to pack to move to another room. After I was packed, I got a call saying I could stay in the room. Very u friendly staff

I booked this hotel out of all the many hotels in the same area because it was the only one left with 2 queen bed availability. Upon our arrival, we were told the room wasnt ready yet- which wasn’t a big deal for me even though we arrived an hour past check-in time. We went to the restaurant in the property and figured a two hour dinner service would be enough time for them to get our room ready. Right? Wrong. They didn’t give us our room until 6:30 pm. Not only that, they gave me the wrong room. Our family of 3 had to fit in one bed because they didn’t even care to correct that mistake. Furthermore, paying extra to get a room facing the Nile river is a bad idea especially when they have a party/wedding downstairs. Your whole room will shake from the noise! We stayed 3 nights and didn’t get a good night sleep at all! Also, Id like to echo what another reviewer here mentioned. The lobby is full of escorts. Its quite concerning to see especially when there are kids around. Dont stay in this hotel. Go somewhere else- pay more if you must. Avoid this hotel at all costs! I will file a claim with my travel insurance to get my money back. Thats how horrible my experience was!!!
