Kontiki Beach Resort Curaçao

The stay was amazing and the beach front property was great. The food could have been better but it was decent. We ate lunch at Cabana's the first day. On the second night we ate at Boca's, my husband loved his food however I wasn't too impressed with mine. For Mother's Day we at at Bliss, the food and the presentation was nice! Our luxury suite was spacious and conveniently located within walking distance to everything. We were warned ahead of time with the music from the pool party and other parties going on however, it wasn't bad. But if you're a light sleeper it could cause a problem for you. We were not told of the foul sewage smell that comes from the drains in both the sink and shower. So much so that we had to to plug the drains in the sink. We made the mistake of opening the stoppers in the sink when we left and came back to a horrible odor. Quickly realized why the drains were initially closed upon our arrival. We were not briefed on that part. Other than the drain smell, our stay was wonderful. The reception staff communicated fast and effectively via WhatsApp answering all of the questions that I had throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family.

We had a very pleasant stay. I had two rooms. A tropical room for my kids and a beach front room for myself and my husband. Both rooms were amazing. I paid more for the beachfront room but it was worth the extra cost. You will read reviews about hearing the music from the beachfront rooms and yes you do hear it. It goes until 2:00 am. We were able to sleep through it but it is very loud. There are a variety of restaurants and stores within walking distance. The hotel provides a shuttle to the local market which I recommend you do to get drinks and snacks. The hotel has amazing snorkelling right on the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The property is kept very clean. We will definitely be back!

Upon check in, we were greeted royally. Every minute that progressed afterward, affirmed that this was a special place. The rooms were 10/10. We rented 2 beach front units that were joined. From day 1 we slept great in our rooms. The service was 5 star every day, from the restaurants, to the beach bed service, to anything else we requested using what's app. This place is beautiful, clean, friendly, and the water was amazing! I swam for hours everyday. Crystal clear and warm. Some of my favorite staff were Andrea, Jill, Tim and Joshua who worked tirelessly everyday with a smile and positive, and highly professional demeanor. Do not hesitate, book this place and enjoy! We created a lifetime of memories for my family. As for some of the other reviews about the sound from the parties that were hosted, we heard the parties, participated, but had no problem sleeping in comfort. I am currently looking into re booking for next year. Thank you for such a great experience Kontiki!

We love Kontiki! Our rooms are overlooking the fabulous tropical pool, the staff are very attentive, and the beach is perfect for a safe swim, snorkel and a cocktail. It’s a great location with Mambo Beach Boulevard next door. Next time, we might consider an ocean view suite, but as we have two rooms between us and the children, it wasn’t a viable option this time. The food and drinks on site are exceptional too! Okay here’s the real deal if you’re young ( 20s -30s) with no kids then this resort is a cool option. You’re right near the beach and a strip of restaurants and clubs so there’s easy options of places to go and eat including a cigar lounge and waterice/ice cream place! However please note that on Wednesday nights and Fridays and Saturdays there are club nights where the music is LOUD very close and it lasts until 12/1am. It’s a mix of Dutch club music and top 40 so if that’s gonna bother you then don’t stay here. BUT the rooms are nice, the property is cool and you’re so close to Mambo beach! You’re about 45-50 minutes from other beaches like Kokomo and Grote Knipe so make sure to rent a car!

Before arrival, Kontiki made sure to personally reach out to offer accommodations and information on airport transportation, dinner reservations, spa services, things to do in the area. It was very nice to get information before even leaving my home. Upon arrival, every single employee was smiling, helpful, and welcoming. The resort itself is beautiful and the properties around it are just as great. The beach is gorgeous and clean. I would stay here again and bring friends/ family!

This hotel is beautiful and breathtaking. It is near many beaches that’s walkable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend for a family, girls trip or even a solo trip.

It looks like the new management is only interested in promoting the new luxury suites and stopped maintaining the original units in the beautiful tropical Balinese-style portion of the resort. Bathrooms stink from years of smoking inside and the bedding is way past its expiration date. At every turn, the staff ask if you are staying in the luxury suites. I am sure there's some sort of "the wrong side of the luxury suites" snobbery too. Bring heavy duty mosquito spray and snacks. There are no grocery stores in a safe walking distance; even in the nearby Mambo Beach Blvd mall area. Also, the chemical smell from constant re-painting of the beach beds may not be for the asthmatics. But overall, the resort is the best choice in the area. The beach is sandy and clean and protected from the waves so you can safely swim in the clear turquoise water. The onsite restaurants are beautifully designed and the food is pretty good, if a bit pricey. If you don't get a crying baby for a next door neighbor (for a place with late night DJ parties at the beach, there are surprisingly too many young children), you will quite enjoy your stay.
