Hotel Bougainvillea San José

We stayed at Hotel Bougainvillea on our first evening in Costa Rica, after arriving at the San Jose airport in the mid-afternoon. The hotel is conveniently close to the airport. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the hotel's beautiful grounds. We had a very tasty dinner in the hotel restaurant -- probably the best steak I ate in Costa Rica. We were traveling with our two children, who were welcome in the restaurant. There is a large and gorgeous garden behind the hotel, with interesting tropical plants and many birds. Really whet our appetite for the rest of our trip. There is also a nice pool and a good gym where my husband and I fit in a morning workout before hitting the road on day 2 of our trip. Overall, we were very pleased.
