Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Saskatoon Downtown, an IHG Hotel

We came into town for a wedding. Love the king suite and huge tub for us and love the family suite for the kids. My husband enjoyed the use of the guitars and the ease of car access to the parkade.

We stayed from June 27-July 9th. We had 2 rooms. On some days our rooms were not cleaned at all even though we were gone all day. The lights were burnt out in one room above the bed. You could not plug in anything into some of the outlets as they just fell out, which was extremely inconvenient for my husband’s sleep apnea machine. We found the adult price for the buffet breakfast price to be quite pricey especially if you’re staying there as long we were. The pool was great, our kids loved it - the hours were convenient. It was right across from the mall which was why we booked that location and also close to the movie theatre, while we were in town visiting relatives. Some complimentary bottled water would have been appreciated.

The pool and hot tub were easy to get to and towels available at the front desk. They added fresh water to the pool between 9 and 10 am so our swim ans hot tub at 11 am was rather cold. The jets worked for 1 day out of the 2 we swam. So the hot tub was more a warm bath. We went in 3 times overall. The staff was very nice including the pool maintenance, front desk, and restaurant workers at the continental breakfast. The breakfast was not very good. Everything tasted old and we were eating at 9:30. Nothing was rotated fresh or just make as you go. It seemed all made for 7 am and sat there until 11. No where to gather. We had 2 family members come visit us. So a total of 6 people. And there was no where to sit and watch the hockey game comfortably. The restaurant had no tv and the lounge was a no go due to a minor being with us. I asked to watch in tbe lobby but hotel policy is to play the news. That is not a big deal. A room of out of town folk just werent sure where to go within walking distance and not spend a ton of money to watch the game together. Overall I would sleep there again but more than likely, I would pick elsewhere with a more open and available restaurant (my dad waited 15 minutes after being sat and no one came to take his order), a larger pool, and a better breakfast.

I stay at hotels often in Saskatoon when I visit family. I thought I’d try a different hotel this time and I definitely will be going back! Clean, friendly staff and the parking is an added bonus and peace of mind while staying down town.

Perfect location for a family birthday staycation downtown with a nice restaurant for breakfast. Really family friendly.
