As my partner was part of an annual cultural event in the area, we chose to stay at Hotel Montfort for it's upscale "spa retreat and relaxation" theme. Let me tell you our stay was far from relaxing. We booked a few weeks ago and unfortunately, the whole hotel as been booked by multiple sports teams for the same entire week-end. Our room, on 4th floor, was near a meeting room or venue and kids (left unsupervised) were running wild and free in the hallway from early PM to 10 PM and it went on in the morning. They were messing around the vending machines, playing with the escalator, playing catch, fooling around, as the adults were nowhere to be found. We complained a first time, then a second time as nothing changed by a few hours. We understood nothing would be done when we heard the parents talk as lourd as the kids and claiming the place was theirs since they were 80 people together. Frankly, we don't understand why the hotel never changed us room or booked us on another level in the first place. We asked to be changed room twice, we got the response the hotel was full. Putting our 6 yo daughter to sleep was almost impossible at a decent hour and the chaos in the hallway waked us in the morning. The pool area was a mess passed 3PM (kids jumping in the spa pool, water everywhere, parents drinking cans like it's an all-inclusive resort) and to add up, the air conditioning unit of our room was broken. It was the last straw to make our stay frustrating and unpleasant.

Beautiful property. Deluxe rooms are nice. Pool and hot tub are clean but small (no laps are being done in these small kidney shaped pools). Evening check in staff could have been friendlier but day staff for check out was great.

The hotel use to be a convent and it has been renovated to accommodate great sized rooms and amenities. Its a lovely building and the grounds surrounding it is beautiful as well. The overall stay was good as the hotel is right across from the river in a nice spot and there are lots of resort like amenities like spas, pool, roof top Jacuzzi to enjoy. The rooms are clean, however my mom noticed our bed sheets looked like they were not changed when we checked in and we had to ask twice before they were changed. Other than that we did notice some little things like questionable splatters behind the washroom door, or the towel hook on the door that was falling off, which are easily fixable if there is a more sharp eye on maintaining standards. We did notice lots of families and couples at the hotel enjoying the amenities and they all seem to be enjoying their time. We did eat breakfast at the hotel, it was buffet style and plenty of options. We did enjoy our breakfast and the manager at the restaurant was on top of his team and his floor making sure everyone gets their tea or coffee, tables are cleaned and theres always plenty of food for guests to enjoy. Other than the items I mentioned that made us unhappy, everything else was nice.

Try hotel was nice and in a good location. We were a little disappointed to be in a new annex and not in the main building. Also disappointed that the description said spa was included and then we were told when we got there it was an extra charge. The restaurant was nice and staff great. The cafe was good and a great place to hang out with kids.
