Holiday Inn Express Halifax Airport, an IHG Hotel

For an airport hotel this was very clean Staff wasn’t the friendliest or helpful There were people in the hall yelling, slamming their doors, and kids running up and down the hall at 5am which you can hear through the walls and door easily. More of a parent problem but worthy of noting because the noise is so easily heard in your room.

Rooms near elevator are about the worst you can get. If sleep is a priority make sure you aren't near them. Being an airport hotel there are people banging suitcases and kids having meltdowns all night.

This hotel is great for families but less so for business. Rooms are very clean and the staff were wonderful but there is no soundproofing at all in the rooms so you hear every noise from the hallway. It’s a popular spot for travellers because of the park and fly option but I there were kids running in the hallway from the time of check in until 11:30pm and it started again at 7:00am. You can’t fault the kids who were excited for vacation but it made it impossible to focus on work and when travelling for business that isn’t ideal.

The room is great. My kids love to swim.

Conveniently located by the airport, but far from the city of Halifax. Breakfast had a variety of hot and cold items. Coffee was weak with coffeemate for creamer, thankfully alternate coffee was available in rooms. Breakfast center staff were very attentive. Pool was unavailable, which was a disappointment for our small kids. Parking lot was being resurfaced, but we were not notified that entrance to parking lot was blocked off over night and there was poor visibility, making for a hazardous situation attempting to enter the parking lot.

It’s your average hotel great for the whole family. Has an indoor pool plus a restaurant in adjoining hotel. If you don’t want a restaurant, this hotel has a little pantry where you can buy ready made food and a microwave. What I like most about this hotel, it’s close to the airport and reasonable price. Does it need upgrading? Sure. But it’s clean throughout and functional.

They let our family check in on day one at 10 am. Greatly appreciated

My family of 4 stayed here in order to catch a flight the next morning. There were no key cards at check-in at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, so we were escorted to our room. Children of guests were running in the hall, letting doors slam and knocking on random guests’ doors. Only a result of no key cards, temporary I hoped…. When I tried to call front desk around 9 p.m. to inform them of the noise, the direct line did not work—just a dummy button, no connection. I tried calling the hotel directly, no answer. I went down to speak with someone at front desk, and watched a Porter Airline pilot being handed a key card…. I informed front desk of noise and went back to my room. At 11:30 p.m., still noise, knocking, slamming doors, children cursing in the hall and a bar of soap thrown at our door. I got out of bed, got changed, and went back downstairs to complain. The kind lady at the desk followed me upstairs and warned the kids of the noise complaint—and gave them back their soap. The grownups took Gravol, the kids got earplugs in and we also turned the fan on high. Never again.

Super friendly staff. It is a neat and well-kept hotel. My family and I enjoyed the morning breakfast. It was a pleasant surprise that they served a warm breakfast and not the typically semi-cold pastries and cereal.

My family and I stayed one night due to an early morning flight. The staff were very friendly and the beds were very comfortable. The room could have been cleaner. There were crumbs on one of the beds, a lot of hair on the bathroom floor and what appeared to be dried blood on one of the comforters.
