Hotel Eldorado at Eldorado Resort

It’s my families favourite hotel in Kelowna. Everything was great about this hotel except one thing. Poor cable package for sports, was unable to watch any NHL playoffs from my room. And it sounds like we never received Expedia VIP perk. But location, service is second to none.

I carried all my items into the hotel, along with my toddler, to find out you cant check in at the hotel and I had to go to The Manteo to check in. Thats weird. And inconvenient. I walked in the cold over to Manteo to check in. My toddler complaining she was freezing so I ended up carrying her. I probably wont stay at The Eldorado again because of that. It’s too much of a hassle.

We booked a 'Heritage Room' in order to get an idea of what the Great Aunts in our family experienced when the hotel was on the original site a bit further south towards Kelowna. The room was large and airy with a great balcony and view of the lake and marina. The old charm still exists reflected in the wood floors, antique furniture and wallpaper. The first room we were offered was directly over the pub with a speaker in the pub nestled just under our floor. Needless to say the sound transmitted clearly into the room. The second room we were show was the smallest room in the hotel with little space for our things. The third and final room was on the top floor above the pub, where the sound was more muted. Keep in mind that in the original hotels of the period sound insulation was not a priority - but there were no electronic amplification systems to project sound through the thin walls either.
