X'Tan Ha - The Waterfront Resort

We had a great spring break X’Tan Ha, and recommend it highly. The resort grounds and pools are very nice, and the beach and water was very clear. The restaurant serves good food daily, and it was convenient being on the property. The one downfall would be that you can’t charge the items to your room, so you need to pay every time. A minor inconvenience overall. The servers were always friendly. Just like any Caribbean restaurant and bar, patience is required, so sit back and relax. Eating over the water was amazing, while watching the fish and having the sea breeze and sun, also plenty of shade if needed too. The room was comfortable and clean, for our family of 3. Our daughter stayed in the sofa bed, and the king size bed was comfortable for my wife and I. There’s a little wood rot outside due to salty air, so be careful. The kitchenette and full size refrigerator was nice too. There are some small convenience stores along the way to the resort to get some drinks and snacks, as well as some fruit stands. There are many restaurants on the island. Most are a bit of a distance away, but all had good food overall. The closest was In-D-Wild, and the food was delicious and relatively cheap too with their pricing. The best restaurant we went to was Aji. Don’t skip that one for sure. Others were the Sun Deck, Rum Dog, Truck Stop. All good but Aji stood above them all. Again be patient as most meals were easily an hour-island time. Have fun!

Love the resort super nice and the staff was amazing. Major kudos to Victor and the security guy Flipalberto sorry if I butchered his name. But the guys were amazing. The resort is however far from the city which made it tiring driving back and forth. It’s definitely amazing for families. I wish there were more restaurants on the resort with nearby excursions. And if there were I wasn’t aware of any

This stay was amazing! The property was clean and safe. Any seaweed that washed ashore daily, the maintenance crew cleaned it up before the birds woke so always clean. So much to do at the resort without even leaving to town. We took the kayak and saw an abundance of sea life, manta rays and other rays just swimming along side of us. Allen at the front desk was the best. Above and beyond. Regardless if it’s their job or not they make you feel like family! For a very quiet and personable vacation, I highly recommend. This is not a crazy and loud place. So relaxing to simply reset all of life’s chaos!

X Tan Ha was an incredible place to stay. Family and kids friendly. Beach front with glorious sunrises facing due east. 2 pools and many games available. The villas looked exactly as advertised. Very clean. The Grounds keepers were meticulous with their landscaping and beach grooming. Friendly office staff. Food and menu was mediocre but there were a couple other restaurants nearby to provide variety. Onsite day tours available were quite organized, knowledgable and fun. 4.5/5

The staff made the whole experience amazing. I stayed for two weeks from Christmas to New Year’s and had a wonderful time. The front reception team made sure I got to and from the island with ease. The bar and kitchen staff, Mitch, Brandon, Gusimo were so great and attentive. Kim helped out getting me booked on several adventures that I will remember forever. The resort was quiet and peaceful even with several families being there.

The only negative points about this hotel is its location, 7.2 miles north from San Pedro town, with few options to go to town (water taxi: very expensive, bike or walk), and very few activity for kids. Other than that, the hotel just reopened its doors on 25th of December with a new management. Has a gorgeous beach (probably one of the most beautiful in the island).
