Bougainvillea Barbados

Terrific boutique place for a family holiday. Quiet beach with very friendly and helpful staff. I can’t talk highly enough of this place. It has been a wonderful two weeks. The smallest criticism would be the restricted menu in the restaurant , but we just went out often which was also lovely. A very short taxi ride to “the gap” where you’ll find many excellent restaurants and bars. I love it here and will come back.

Lovely property and friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and well maintained. We had a junior suite which included a full kitchen. Food at on site restaurant was excellent. Beach is spectacular with surf for those who enjoy an active swimming experience. Walking distance to Gap Restaurants - but route has not great sidewalks and not well lit after dark, so you have to be careful.

The property was gorgeous, especially the lobby and pools. Our only disappointment was the kitchenette. The online photo for a junior suite shows the kitchenette in the back of the main living space. ours was in the entry hall to the room. It was very inadequately appointed as well. We are very active on vacation and prefer to eat breakfast and many dinners in our room. Cooking is healthier and more convenient for us after a long day exploring. This kitchenette made it fairly impossible to cook much at all. Our balcony had a lovely view of the ocean and the pools and the room itself was fairly spacious. One thing that wasn't mentioned on their website is the fact that there are no elevators. We were on the top floor and hiking up and down every day was a lot (especially with all our gear) and we felt that should have been disclosed. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Great for families with young kids.

The service was touch and go. The hotel has no elevator so expect to drag your belongings up flights of stairs. No complementary water anywhere and no one cares to provide you with any. The pool was full of kids and the grounds were old and ugly. The hotel is so dated and the rooms were dull and old. The beach is ok but there are much prettier beaches in Barbados. The food at the cafe was mediocre and it’s their only restaurant. All in all totally disappointment.

We loved the hotel to stay in. It’s very convenient for a young family and fussy eaters to have their own kitchen to prepare food in. The place was clean, room service also was brilliant. The pools and beach are amazing at this place. Only wish someone would have warned me about the whistling frogs!!

Great for families with infants.

Beautiful property with very friendly and professional staff. Room was comfortable, meals were delicious (including vegetarian options). Beach was wonderful and we appreciated the outstanding staff there who engaged with our kids, loaned shovels, buckets, boogie boards, etc. A very positive experience.

There is a reason this property gets so many return visitors. It is smaller and more intimate than many of its neighbors, with a great private beach and many pools. The food is excellent. The staff is so friendly, especially Lisbeth in the restaurant and Wayne, who provides transport to and from the airport. Mostly families and folks that don’t stay up all night drinking and partying. A real hidden gem, we are already planning our next visit.

From the day we arrived we were made to feel special by all of the staff. The room was excellent and they had equipped it with a baby cot and nappy bin. The hotel is beautifully presented and all the staff were kind, attentive and made us feel very welcome. Special mentions for Rasheem, Vivian and Lisbeth who were great with our hound daughter.
