Property was very clean and staff were pleasant. Furniture and fittings dated but comfortable. Tram outside the door. We were very disappointed that the cafe/restaurant has not been open for years, despite being advertised on the website. The staff had no suggestions of where we could eat at breakfast as the two cafes nearby were not suitable for kids.

The 3 rooms should have been together as we were staying as family not on separate floors.

I recently stayed at the Melbourne Metropole hotel and wanted to share my experience. The staff was accommodating, allowing a late checkout, and were very friendly. The room was well-equipped with useful amenities like a dishwasher, washing machine, and a double shower, which was great for a family stay. On the downside, there were some issues with dirty dishes in the cupboard, noise from people in the pool area at 3 am, flat and thin pillows, black mould in the showers, and my wife mentioned her pillow smelled bad, suggesting a need for washing the actual pillows. However, the hotel had a large swimming pool, free underground car parking, and a fantastic location near Treasury Gardens and the State Library, where we attended a wedding. Considering the reasonable price, I can't complain too much, but I would rate it 3/5 stars. Despite the cons, I would still consider staying again in the future.

Amazing location. Everything walk or public transport accessible. Very family friendly and nice having a little kitchen so you don’t have to buy all your meals out…but also so many yummy restaurants and bars nearby! Not a modern hotel but clean and has everything you need. Lovely pool and helpful staff.

Recommend as it is great for families - pool , space and quiet yet has a team stop outside the door and is only 10 minute walk to the CBD, and a few minutes walk the other way to reach Brunswick streets bars and shops or The beautiful Carlton gardens - so you are in the middle of everything without actually being in the city centre and it is reasonably priced.

Ensuite shower screen full of mould, towel rail was not fitted properly and fell of, cigarette butts not cleaned of from the balcony. I booked a room for 3 children and 2 adults, one child had to sleep on the couch rather disappointed overall

Very quiet rooms, great for a family with kids.
