The Sands by Nightcap Plus

Friendly staff and very handy location for us visiting family.

The property was nice, and rooms were clean on arrival, and had comfortable bedding. However there were a few things we weren't happy with, another customer smoked weed in the room just down from us. The smell was so strong, throughout our area, the hallway and our room. We notified the staff and they barely acknowledged it. We felt they could have at least apologised and tried something to sort it out- moved us or something. (We had our kids with us) Then due to circumstances we couldn't control, we needed to stay another night, when we went to book it, they said yes and quoted a price, which we were charged. However the next morning, they had no record of us staying another night, despite the money coming out from our account. Another thing was that they charged us an extra $20. When I asked what it was for- they said they 'didn't realise the extra night was more expensive' despite it being a Monday- not exactly peak time. Anyway it bothered us that they charged us, without asking or explanation, a polite conversation explaining the situation would have be lovely. I think it was super unprofessional to add a charge, due to the staff mistake and without consultation prior. Overall the staff service was not great- we felt they could have done much better- especially as we didn't want to be in the building for one whole day, because of the weed smell. Other things to note are that you cannot use the tv properly unless you have personal accounts for each service.

Great for a one night stay for the family.

Room was as pictured. Decent size room and bathroom. Our family of 4 had a very comfortable stay.

We stayed in a family suite which was very roomy and comfortable,modern and clean.All the staff were excellent,welcoming,friendly,informative and professional in all areas of the facility.Definitely would highly recommend The Sands by Nightcap.

Reception staff were very friendly and accomodating. Allowed us to check in early which allowed us time to get ready for the wedding we were attending locally. Room was spacious and comfortable. Had all the necessities we needed for our stay. Heating did encounter a problem and we seemed assistance but it continued to stop working. This wasn’t too bad as our room (family) had a second vent and control panel and we were able to make the heat push through to the lounge area. Shower was amazing and bed so comfy I didn’t want to get out of it in the morning. Downfall was the buffet breakfast, everything was cold including the hot drinks we ordered and had to search the bar area for staff assistance. All in all I would definitely stay again when in the area and recommend to others.
