Property location is wonderful but it is also its downfall. Being in the CBD is great for convenience but it means that the Valet Parking that is offered is absolutely terrible. I had to circle the area for up to 45mins each time I wanted to drop the car off with the valet.
The reception team are generally helpful but do not engage with guests unless approached. When staying at the Grand Chancellor or MACQ01 the reception team actively greet guests whereas the Movenpick team don't even look up from their computers unless you walk up to the counter.
The minibar is woeful. 1 bottle of red, 1 bottle of white, 1 can of beer and 1 can of cider. No soft drinks, no spirits, no juices. Combine this with a room service menu (via QR scan) that constantly says the item (a Whiskey) is not available, even when I have had it in the bar, and the relaxing experience is very much reduced.
The actual room itself has limited storage and any more than 1 suitcase would be difficult to accommodate.
I believe the Movenpick is geared more for single night business travel rather than multi night or family accommodation.
Having stayed in several Hobart hotels, I can honestly say the Movenpick was the worst I have used. Personally I will use the Grand Chancellor or MACQ01 for future visits and will select my dates around their availability rather than return to the Movenpick.

Good for short stay as they don’t have any microwave and to get access to the staff microwave you need to sign the safety form which is very unrealistic and not practical. Won’t recommend for the family and long stays.

Staff were lovely, rooms beautiful and clean. However “guaranteed check in at 2pm” was not guaranteed and we had to wait until approx 2:45pm to check in (with a toddler is not ideal), as compensation we received 2 welcome drink vouchers which I don’t believe is adequate and also thought was the standard anyway, however staff were still lovely.

We stayed there with our two young children and the room we had was spacious enough for them to play and enjoy themselves.

Great location and helpful front desk staff! Loved the valet car parking service! Only comment is that it felt like the restaurant staff were new but otherwise it was a pleasant stay for our family.

Travelling to Hobart? Don't go past this fantastic Hotel.
I travel a fair bit & have to comment on the attentive, happy, friendly approach by Staff & Management. I stayed with family & we were all very happy with the accomodation, service, attitude & facilities. Location was perfect for strolls to the harbour, cafes, shopping & public transport at front door. Restaurant & gym also well appointed. I would not hesitate to stay here again if visiting Hobart. 10 out of 10 from our family. Thanks for a great stay!

Amazing hotel, the staff were professional and very accommodating. The room was great! Close to Salamanca square and the harbour. Great breakfast package, so many choices. The food at the Italian restaurant attached to the hotel was an absolute delight to have 10/10.
Would highly recommended this hotel to family and friends

Great hotel, perfect location and excellent customer service.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Movenpick. The room was really comfortable and really well insulated.
Location could not be better. Would happily stay again.
During our stay, we only wish there was a water station in the lobby, so we could fill up our bottles or have a glass of water whilst waiting for family to come down.
