Hampton Inn Fond du Lac

We stayed at this hotel as a group staying for a hockey tournament. Staff were wonderful and they let kids be kids. Parents were able to visit in the lobby without making us feel like we were an inconvenience. Breakfast was tasty with a good selection. Great price for the value.

Was super disappointed that the pool was not operational due to maintenance. Prior to booking there was a messaging saying it would be down until 8/1/2023. I waited til after to book and message was no longer on website so I assumed all was good. Guess I should have called to confirm. It was the one thing my kids were looking forward to at the hotel.

The first thing we see when we walk in is a sign saying the pool is not available.We chose this hotel because it had a pool.I feel hotels.com should have alerted me before I reserved.We had two children with us.The 3 year old cried.

The front desk attendant was nowhere to be found during check in and there was another person waiting to check in as well. There was a sign upon entry that the pool was out of order, it was not a quickly made sign either indicating it must have been broken for a very long time. I chose this hotel due to cost, proximity to our events, and having a pool for the kids to splash around in between events. We were offered to use another hotels pool that they had an agreement with, which happened to be what looked like a brand new Fairfield about a mile away. The breakfast was good however and the lady who ran that in the morning was very hospitable. The beds would be considered so so and i could not wait to be back home in my own bed.

Most importantly, the hotel's amenities and staff were great! The hotel played Fox news in the dining area during breakfast; the intolerant and divisive views made it difficult to enjoy our experience. It certainly shaded my perception of how family-friendly this particular location is.
