Holiday Inn Express Ellensburg, an IHG Hotel

We did not have working air in our room. So there was no a/c and the window only opened a few inches. We couldn’t be moved because there wasn’t another room that fit our family.

I stayed for a week while attending a conference at CWU campus. I appreciated the end of the hall quiet location I was assigned. The overall condition of the room was good, but housekeeping clearly isnt paying attention to the details. There were crumbs and dirt in the corners of areas that are sweepable (ie entry and bathroom). Also I wondered if the previous tenant had a dog. There was what appeared to be dog hair in the drawers. Here is a tip...when you cant sweep it out of the corner grab the vacuum hose. Same goes for drawers. Works amazing! Super easy!! I was really looking forward to the pool and hot tub but that was closed for some unknown reason the entire week! Water looked green and nasty when passing by from outside. I get that sometimes mechanical issues happen but I know I chose to pay a little more to stay at this hotel (compared to others) because of the pool. Passes to the local pool would have been a nice gesture. Especially those with children. Pillows were amazing. Differnet support levels, large size and plenty of them!! Breakfast was good. Everything seemed fresh each morning. The selection was plentiful with bagels, yogurt, cinnamon rolls, sausage, gravy, cereals, juices etc. Overall a good stay. Would just ask that housekeeping get a little more training or a little more follow up.

The property was good, the reason I booked this hotel was the pool, I was traveling with 2 grandchildren and the pool was going to be a nice change oout of our 7 he journey. One other issue, when I booked the hotel I specifi6 asked for a 2 bedroom suite as advertised in Expedia, but they only had a1 bedroom, disappointed.

Staff was really nice and let us check in early at 10 am. Room was clean with lobby and dining room nicely renovated. My reason for a low rating was that at 5 pm me and my two young elementary school kids wanted to go swimming. Pool was closed, and looked like it had been for a while. I called customer service to complain because it was one of the reason why we booked there over hotels sharing the same parking lot. They contacted the front desk and then the front desk had me come down. They said that yes the pool is closed and would be for a while. He said said that if we wanted a pool check out and go to another hotel. He would void our reservation at no cost. It was 5:00 and i wasnt going to pack back up to go to another hotel. Disappointed in the total lack of costumer service.

we had room for 4 people, 2 queen and sofa and bed linen provided also for sofa (not standard in many other hotels). Clean and comfortable, also feel safe with family.

The staff was pleasant, no issues there. The building is just old I guess.. I've stayed at a few Holiday Inn Expresses and they've always been newer and very pleasant stay. First of all the beds are rock hard. I mean it was a close to feeling like I was sleeping on a floor. I woke in the morning with a kinked back and a slight headache. It was very disappointing. Second of all we could hear everything happening next door and outside our room. Very disrupting since we had small children with us. The breakfast very good, it was above average of other hotels. Typical HIE breakfast. I'm glad we only stayed one night..

The staff was very helpful and nice. I will only stay here when I visit my kid in college!!!! The room was clean and the beds were SO comfy!!
