Property was beautiful! However, I wasn’t happy at all with the staff. My husband and I walked in around 3:20pm and the front desk lady said the room would be available soon (guaranteed at 4pm). We waited for half an hour and then another family came in, she checked them in and gave them a key right away. I specifically saw they got the same type of room as us. Then she called me to say my room is ready, when I approached to get the key she said oh no wait I need to check if it’s clean. Room looked nice and clean, but the king size bed sheets looked definitely used (all wrinkled up).

I came here for the night for me. Time I ordered a bistro filet entree,it was absolutely delicious! Also had a delicious melonball cocktail, i slept like a baby and i definitely recommend this place to anyone, rather it's with your family or not :)

Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was small but cozy and perfectly adequate for a couple traveling without children. The bathroom was small, but the shower had the best showerhead and water pressure of any hotel I have stayed in. I liked that the restaurant has two levels with different atmospheres. The food was excellent.

My family stayed just one night for my daughter's last hoorah of summer trip before school starts, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. She loved exploring the "old fancy hotel", and speaking in fancy accents. We had originally been assigned the incorrect room, but the person working the front desk didn't hesitate to make things right and went out of his way to walk the halls with us to ensure that we were happy. In the morning, it was just a short trip to Luray Caverns, so all-in-all, it is the perfect spot for our trip.

What an AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL hotel in a great area. We absolutely loved staying at this hotel and would recommend it to anyone. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our only sad part was the pool was closed...the kids were disappointed. We also thought breakfast was included, but because it was a holiday, we didn't get to enjoy breakfast at the hotel. The service made up for it thought.

We would come stay here again for the amazing views, sunsets, and atmosphere. However, there were some disappointments. My husband and I both called in on 2 separate occasions before we arrived to ask if our room had a fridge and if the pools would be open. We were told yes to both. However, there were no pools open and there was no fridge in our room. But, I was provided with a medical fridge which was better than nothing. Also, the site said our room sleeps 5 but it only slept 4 so one of our children slept on the floor. (I didn’t realize a King bed is considered for 3 ppl). Everyone was very friendly but the communication needs improving. We also came back to our room partially serviced. The bed was “made” but blankets and pillows not placed neatly back … very odd. Lastly, we had multiple key issues within hours of arriving but they were attentive to help and very kind. It was a weekend of character building for us a family :) None of these are deal breakers though.. Good things: very close to caverns, excellent restaurant in the basement, quietest & friendliest hotel we’ve ever been to. Wonderful ambiance on the front porch.

Great location and kids loved the grand staircase. The staff was exceptionally pleasant and was happy to share tips to enhance our experience. Our room was in the main building and was spacious for our family of 4.
