Hideout on the Horseshoe

The loft cabin was remodeled from the last time (years ago) we stayed there. It’s gorgeous!!! The mattress was comfortable, the multiple shower heads were convenient, the steep stairs were not an issue for our toddler and the entire loft was so clean!! We will definitely be back!!!

The property is beautiful there’s no disputing that. We rated it low because there was tissue shoved into the holes in the walls mainly the bathroom area, the hot water was fickle, the upstairs bedroom set up didn’t make sense to us you had a table in between the beds but no access to plugs so the table was useless because the plugs were on one side of the room and then on the opposite wall of the second bed so your phones and computers were on the floor. The floors weren’t cleaned properly there was dirt and some dead bugs. The walls are paper thin!!! We had people show up on our second night and we were kept up by their baby crying and when anyone would walk around upstairs or going down the stairs you could also hear their entire conversation as if you were in the room with them so we whispered throughout our room to not wake the baby. The office closes at 4 which is highly inconvenient because you’re usually out and about and when you get back there’s no one to contact, our shower rod fell and was being held by sticky tack it seemed but because it happened after 4 we had to find away to fix it. The bathroom also doesn’t have a fan so when you do take a shower the whole place fills with humidity and you have to open the window to try and release it but when it’s humid outside good luck! The back door lets in all kinds of air. But… it’s convenient location between Austin and San Antonio is a huge plus, the pictures you can get here also are gorgeous the town is super cute

My family enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very clean! We will book again for our next trip

Had a great stay with the family! There was good communication with a personal call a couple days early to see if we needed anything. The view of the river from the balcony was great (we stay in #17). My wife even caught a couple fish while there. The soaker tub was a plus! We’re definitely booking again!

Overall, our stay was was good. We were concerned with the dirty towels and other small imperfections with the room that we stayed in but overall we had fun the family was happy and we could walk to some restaurants and surprisingly good food thank goodness for a convenient store that is walking distance.

For a family of 5 it was not comfortable for us. The futon was downstairs with the only tv while the 2 queens were upstairs. It wasn't very comfortable during our downtime to gather together and watch tv. The property is nice and the cabin(Nueces) was very clean and up to date. We just needed a bit more room to spread out before calling it a night

The rooms were tasteful and felt up-to-date. The stairs were not as steep to our loft room as anticipated which was nice. We liked having the living area separate from the loft. Made the room feel much larger. No TV in the loft where the beds were. The walls are very thin as we could hear the family (including kids) pretty well until about 10:30 that night. Luckily we used AirPods and watched a movie on our iPad. Being by the river and walking around the property was very nice although the sounds from vehicles on the road and bridge was more than anticipated. There were some great places to eat within 2-4 miles of the location.

Great accommodations with river access! Room was a little tricky to find but an associate helped and we found it just fine. Walls are thin as could hear tv in next room throughout night. TV could have been bigger for the size of room but quality was fine. A little tight trying to get around in front room with furniture as a small family of four was tripping over each other in this space. One ac unit cooled GREAT but was located in bedroom walled off with a door. So if you want to close the bedroom where bathroom is located, the rest of the space doesn’t get the AC cooling but there is a ceiling fan in front room. Bathroom was nice and spacious but no room to set toiletries. Sink drain also doesn’t have a cover so watch your items! River access was perfect for our family. We would stay again, perhaps in larger room. All staff on property were courteous.

Check in and check out was great! I was very concerned for possibility of injury from loose wooden plank on outside deck. Plank not nailed in place, nail head sticking out. Bathroom door lock broken. Unable to lock for privacy. Very poor Wifi! Did not work for pretty much all of our stay! Great playground for kids! Bedding very comfortable. Appreciated the extra sheets, blankets and pillows!

Excellent get away vacation. Beautiful view. I had wonderful time with my family.
