La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lumberton

No complaints regarding the hotel or staff. The only issue was sharing the hotel with a large group of kids in town for a ball tournament. Didn't hear people in the rooms on either side or above us. Just the kids running and screaming in the hallway

Pool was closed but this was not disclosed ahead of time. That was one of the reasons I picked this hotel. And the elevator was also being worked on. Basically, the place needs better management. Will not stay there on my next visit. My grandchildren were disappointed they could not swim.

Average hotel but it served our needs while visiting family nearby. Breakfast was decent. Room walls need some cleaning or re painting. Elevator went out on the morning of our departure making for some inconvenience. No one at the front desk at check out so just left the keys

The property is nice and clean but it took 2 hours to check in and we were told at check in that our room was taken by someone else and then the lady checking us in gave us a single room and told me to see if it had a sleeper sofa for my kids and low and behold it didn't. So back down the stairs and finally got a room.

This is the second time I stayed here and both times I have had to deal with roaches. I would have thought after the first time it wouldn't happen again. Well it did and honestly they really need to clean that up. The place is not only got roaches, but the rooms are nasty and not clean at all. The chair in our room saw covered in something (gross). I am tired of telling people that their staff isn't doing their job. I was there for a celebration of life for a family member and here I am having to tell the front desk there is roaches again. Besides all that the staff at the front desk are very kind so I have no complaints there.

I had booked a stay here for a couple of weeks due to family in the area. The first room was dirty, furniture was so dirty (sticky) I had to put sheets on them. I moved to another room that smelled horrible (moldy) and the carpet was frayed completely in a few areas. The black out blinds fell off as well. I was told prior to the stay the pool would be in working order however it was green and could not be used the entire stay. This was during a excessive heat wave in Texas and I specially wanted a pool. The carpets were filthy and nothing had been deep cleaned in it looks to be years and it was impossible to get the smell out of the air, maybe the carpets had mildew in them, they were sticky and the color was black so hard to see stains.

I stayed at this hotel earlier this year and didn’t have a single complaint however, my family just left there and I will not be staying there again. I don’t know if it’s a new thing but they are now considered pet friendly which I did not know. As soon as you walk in, you are hit with that wet dog smell. It was worse in our room. We stayed two nights and the odor was so strong that we immediately had to wash everything after a 12 hour trip back home at 10pm! We don’t have dogs but have stayed with friends that do and never had this problem. We saw a total of five different large breed dogs while they we were there so I can only imagine how many dogs come in and out of there.

The second floor hall had a strange smell. When we walked into our room it had a strong smell like cat urine. Everything in the room including the carpet and the air was damp. We pulled the bedspread back and the top sheet look discolored or stained. I had 2 children with me. We packed our bags and went to the front desk. The lady on night duty immediately picked another room. Took us to it. Confirm our room was clean. Then helped to move us. The next morning we thought we had left items in the first room. Everyone on staff help to locate our misplaced items. We were told that the A/C had leaked on the carpet in the first room. The only reason I gave a 3 was the staff was helpful and worked to correct the issues.

Had a great stay. Pool was closed due to construction, so the kids were disappointed in that. I didn't mind as the staff is really friendly and the place was clean.

Convenient for our family gatherings in the Beaumont area. Great breakfast Efficient, helpful staff Our second visit; will do more when needed.
