Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites VIDOR SOUTH, an IHG Hotel

Checked in after 8:00 pm. Quick and easy. Floor was quiet. Traveled with family and room temperature was comfortable with everyone having a good night's sleep.

So i booked a last minute room at the Hampton thru this app,my little boy was having teeth surgery, anyways, so I get there, and no one is there, I yelled hello! Excuse me!!! After 10 mins, dude came around the corner like nothing. So it was myself and my 4 kids, of course, they are kids and were excited, they were talking and pointing and wows! So we get to the room, there's 2 dead ants on the bed by the pillows! So i let that go, then, we pulled out the fold out couch, you could LITERALLY see the mattress coils sticking out. I paid over 200$ for this "king size"suit, you would think they would have at least comfy beds. Anyways, around midnight there's a loud loud, loud knock!, so i see thru the peek hole and it's a lady from the staff, as soon as i opened the door, she put her 2 fingers in my face and said. "Second warning, if i have to tell you again, I'm calling CCPD! I asked her when was the first warning??? She said day shift got the report, ( mind you, i checked in around 11 p.m.) day shift had left long before we got there. She was really rude, really mean. So since i had my kids with me, i had to swallow my 😠 anger, I didn't want to get kicked out in the middle of the night, with all my kids, and surely wouldn't have gotten our money back! So we were downstairs at 6 a.m , to get breakfast and leave, well she was sitting at the table just glaring at us!! Seems like she's so unhappy with herself, her job, her life, that she took it out on us. Overall, was the worst

The room was large and the mattress was like a cloud. We do not usually sleep well in hotels but we slept like babies

We were in town for a baseball tournament, and this was a great place to stay. We had a double queen with a sleeper sofa, and the room was so spacious and comfortable. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. The kids enjoyed the outdoor pool. The only negative was breakfast the second day seemed to be lacking some of what they had the first morning (I'm guessing b/c the hotel was at capacity.)

While the pictures make it seem nice, pictures lie sometimes. In my room the phone didn’t work, bulbs were missing, some things were plugged in, a laundry bag was missing, and the sheets had stains. The bed was pretty comfortable but it was damaged so foam was coming out the side. The hot breakfast portion was very, very low quality. I wouldn’t have took the time to leave a review if not for the horrible breakfast, which should be simple. I would rate it equivalent to backroads gas station quality. I was shocked. I have traveled regularly for work for nearly a decade and this was the lowest quality Holiday Inn I have stayed in without a doubt. Maybe the chain is cutting back on breakfast costs and getting lower quality food. Plus, whoever did check-ins needs to be trained to put families with small kids on the bottom floor. Kids were running around above me into the late evening and starting in the early morning. While this can be unavoidable sometimes, it shouldn’t when a hotel isn’t a full capacity like during my stay. Better training is needed to strategically place small kids on bottom floor, or at least don’t put people under them. Check in and check out was easy and staff was nice.

The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and the pool was open for the kids to swim. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Booked this on a trip home from our vacation. The description said it had two queen beds, but they were definitely not queens size. This was important since we have a large family and needed the sleeping configuration we booked for including the sofa bed.
