Holiday Inn Express & Suites Childress, an IHG Hotel

We have family there and now wonder why we never have stayed here. The suite was reasonably priced, comfortable, and everything we needed was right there. We really enjoyed our stay, and have stayed at pretty much all of them in Childress. I really do not understand why this property doesn’t have a private road entrance from the highway! Dodging 18 wheelers and others because you are forced into Walmart parking lot to get in our out of Holiday Inn is not cool. My only complaint.

The stay was fine until the next morning when the elevator was out and I was on th second floor with my small dogs and handicapped family. It was not good taking dogs down the stairs and family getting down the stairs. I paid good money for the room and expect some compensation for our inconvenience. I usually marriotts and have never had this trouble.

We checked in late and were tired from driving (had kids with me). Our room key did not work 3x so I went up and down from the 3rd floor to the front desk until it finally worked. Booked a room with 2 queen beds and got a room with 1 king. Random (large) farm dog from next door came in and out of lobby and peed on rug. When I asked the front desk, they said he always comes in and out. There was a guy that was friendly that slept on the couch in the lobby??? Not sure what that was about. One of the employee’s kids were there in the morning in the breakfast area climbing on things and arguing. Then they moved to the parking lot and played hide and seek between the cars (little girl ran out into road as we tried to leave). Overall it was a strange experience and stay and we wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

This hotel was amazing! Very very clean room friendly staff great continental breakfast in the mornings! I’m a picky bacon person but the way they made their bacon was perfect! All in all stay was awesome! 10/10 recommend! Best hotel in childress! And I’m from that town so this should speak volumes! Will definitely be staying here again!

This was a good hotel but not great. The room was nice and clean and so was the hotel itself. We chose this hotel because it said it had a pool but when we arrived the pool was green and staff stated it was closed. The other issue we had was that we only received two towels for bathing in our room. We are a family of four which we filled out for our reservation. My husband asked the front desk for two more towels and the staff stated that they were out. I would have expected more out of a big chain like Holiday Inn.

Are you kidding?? There was absolutely no hot water. To not be able to shower after a full day of driving is unacceptable! Very disappointed.

We liked the view, which was beautiful. The breakfast was fantastic and our whole family, with all our varied likes, loved it. Thank you for making this time special. We highly enjoyed our stay.

The only place we will stay in childress! Always clean, comfortable beds friendly staff. Hotel in process of renovation

I really enjoyed my stay, slept like a baby. My room was clean and comfy. It was quiet and peaceful. They are still doing renovations so you could see equipment/supplies laying around but it was neat. I would definitely stay there again.

This is the second stay that my wife and I have made at this hotel. The bathroom was dirty and unswept. There was a drain stopper that was on the counter with hair all over it. The elevators were not working. Whoever painted and tiled the room had never done either as the paint was sloppy and the tile was popping loose around the baseboards. The attempt to repair it was shoddy and consited of just putting in more grout around the tile and adding thinset over the existing thinset. The bathub needed to be scrubbed and the bed stank. The pool was cloudy and in need of treatment and cleaning. The lobby is very austere and spartan to say the least. It does not have a very welcoming feel to the property. We eneded up leaving this hotel due to a family emergency and not spending the night. Next time, i will stay at another hotel. This is the second most expensive hotel in Childress and is not even the second best. Defintely not up to Holiday Inn brand standards.
