DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Austin

So, the last time I stayed here was about four to five years ago and it seemed pretty different this time and not in a good way. The room was uncomfortably hot, even with the AC set to the coldest setting (we did go in July, but still, it was too hot). The bathroom started emitting a sewage like smell by the morning of our second day that we couldn’t get rid of due to there being no exhaust fan. Also, the bathtub drain would not stay in place, which meant we couldn’t easily bathe our child. Lastly, but most bothersome was that my two year old found three pointy screws near the floor around the curtains in the sitting area. I believe they came out of the ceiling as they looked like the ones that were holding the curtains up. Thankfully, we watch our son like a hawk and snatched the screws away from him as quickly as he found them! Although all of the staff we encountered were very nice, I would not stay here again.

Great accomodations for family of 5. Walkable distance to the Capitol, and to Franklin BBQ.

We loved how accommodating it was for our family of 6. For being a pet friendly hotel I was pleasantly surprised on how clean it was . Thank you for the great service

It’s close to the capital building. But the pool isn’t heated, the parking is valet only and was incredibly backed up/slow. They also only have like one luggage trolley, so you have to wait for others before you can get your luggage where it needs to go. Breakfast was almost $80 for a family of four, and it’s what you’d find at a Motel 6 or regular motel anywhere else, complimentary.

It was a mixed bag. Stayed with family for three nights. . The hotels location was great and the condition of the hotel / room were fantastic. -Service was a disappointment. We had to ask for the room to be cleaned after they failed to do on day 1. Front desk was very inconsistent and non responsive over phone. - Parking was super expensive through valet. Those who are staying over, consider street parking, as there is plenty as the paid public parking has no security detail. For the daily rate that is being charged, it is very limited in services and you are constantly having to pay for additional services.
