Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Athens, an IHG Hotel

I came to this hotel to stay for two nights so I could go to my granddaughter‘s wedding in Brownsboro Texas. The hotel was very clean. The staff was so sweet and kind and attentive. My room was clean and extremely comfortable. I really enjoyed the electronic blinds. I’m thinking about getting those for my home. Check in and out was really easy. Did not take much time. My reservation online was easy. Also, next time we come down to see our grandchildren we will be staying at your hotel and will be staying at it in other towns. We will try to find this brand of hotel to stay in, we used to stay in the comfort suites And theirs does not compare to yours. We really enjoy yours 100% better thank you for such a great stay. Look forward to being with you again soon.

The rooms were nice. The bed was very nice to sleep in. We had a family reunion there. The hotel was under remodeling. The big conference rooms and pool were not available.

Vanity faucet handle broken, fell in sink when used, toiled not handicap, no grab bar on back wall of shower, no anti skid on tub bottom, I noticed several locks on doors broken. I informed clerk that our guest never showed up last night & asked for credit on card, she said I should get $30.00 credit, but did not. Property in poor condition & need alot of updating.

Exterior looks great. And that’s where it stops. Inside is not only dated but worn out. Room 204. Bath tub/shower faucet must have had many leaks. Leak repaired but mold, mildew, loose floor tiles not. Shower curtain torn. Carpet torn. One bed well past it’s prime stage of use. The other was ok. Swimming pool out of service with sign that says - repairs needed will be ready by summer. There isn’t much choice in Athens and we picked what we thought would be the best option. Had we reserved on their website instead of Expedia we would have seen that the pool was closed. We were 6 families all together and having an indoor pool for the kids was the main reason we picked this hotel.

I was disappointed the pool was not kid -friendly. Most of the pool is 6 feet deep! There is only a small area that is 4 feet before it starts sloping to go to 6 feet. I would also recommend if you stay here to stay on the 3rd floor. I stayed on the 2nd floor and late at night and early in the morning I heard the people above me stomping around for a long while. I was not able to fall back asleep.

Nice and friendly staff. This time Internet was not working, nor the online reservation system. We were able to check in without any problem though. Hotel stars to age and some carpets need maintenance, nothing too bad, just an improvement opportunity. Super good location with walmart, and restaurants in the near area. Asked for a baby crib which they brought to the room in a minute. I have been there twice and certainly I'll come back.

the property owners will likely not have much to do with trim falling off the walls, old staples left in the drywall (in our room) from some prior party, the elevator with it's nice stainless steel trim banged up. Just seems like a rich kid not caring much for his BMW that dad bought for him. I was expecting a nice hotel, not marred with details that prove that the qwners could care less. It's the small thing that tell you everything. Besides that Holiday Express came through as normal. These owners, managment are holding on for what they can get out of it, not what they can do proven by the many, many small details that smack you in the face. Holiday Inn needs to pull an inspection. Now the breakfest was very nice....and there were no loud kids at midnight running up & down the halls.

Had a great experience at this hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed in a suite and the room was huge, plenty of space for my 2 toddlers to play and run. Clean rooms, great breakfasts and even had complimentary drinks and appetizers in the lobby one night. Great value. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Love everything!!! The hotel was exceptionally clean, friendly and helpful staff. Can;t wait to stay here again. The kids really enjoyed the pool, and me and my husband enjoyed the hot tub. I like that fact that all the rooms are accessible from inside and you are not stuck outside in the weather trying to get all your stuff into your room.

Great stay for our family of 4. WiFi was out and never worked, which was annoying but not fatal on this trip. Pool was open and clean. The entire hotel seems very new and well-kept. Location was very easy to access, as well as close to everything we wanted to see and do.
