Super 8 by Wyndham Brookings

Safety latch on door was gone. Felt a little unsafe for having kids there.

Everything was great. Check in was easy. The rooms were clean and spacious. The pool was smaller but still plenty of hours of fun for the kiddos. The breakfast was great and staff was helpful.

The room had an overwhelming smell of baby powder probably because it allows dogs.

We have stayed at Super 8 Brookings twice in the last month. We usually stay at higher end hotel chains, but stayed here 2 weeks ago because others were filled up. We were so impressed last time, that we stayed again this time while in Brookings. We had wondered if we had got lucky with a "good room" last time, but the King Room this time was just as nice. This isnt the Ritz Carolton, but very nice. No elevator to the 2nd floor if that's an issue. The managers, Raj, and his family are extremely hard workers and very friendly. Breakfast is better than all other Super 8's, and as good or better than some HIE or Hampt**. 2 kinds of omelets, link sausage, waffles, fruit, yougart, cereal, muffins and etc. Having stsyed at 5 other hotels in Brookings, this place is the best value for your money! We will be back!

DISGUSTING!!! The place is very outdated. The pictures on line are deceiving. Check in was fine. I went to my room and first thing I found was a wrapper for a hypodermic needle. It was on the seat of the chair at the desk. I went to the front office and the clerk came to my room. She picked up the wrapper and offered me another room. I decided to stay because in my mind they'd all be TWEEKER rooms. I'd already paid and knew I was screwed. DIRTY everything. The room had such an odd smell. I did not use the shower because it was so dirty. Men outside my room window were so loud and were smoking who knows what. Did I mention Tweeker hotel? I got what I paid for, my lesson learned. The breakfast was also pitiful. I've stayed in Brookings before at other hotels. The ones closer to Walmart and Taco Bell. They were awesome. Pay the extra money and go there. I definitely do not recommend this hotel. Especially if you have children. I didn't even think to take a picture of the needle wrapper. DIRTY AND DISGUSTING hotel.

It is a nice hotel. The beds are very comfortable. My room had a very comfortable lazy boy rocking chair which was perfect since my grandchildren were there. The room was roomy.
