Holiday Inn Express Gastonia, an IHG Hotel

The hotel was exactly what we needed. Pet friendly, clean, comfortable. We had a great experience with a woman at the front desk. She was so very compassionate as we traveled for a family member’s funeral. We would stay here again if we traveled back to the area.

Clean and new. Friendly and helpful staff. Grandkids enjoyed the pool. Only downside was not enough seating at the pool. I had to stand the whole hour kids were in. Other than that. All was great!

I booked a double an something was wrong with the door. The keys weren't the issue. The door just would not open. Unfortunately, they had to move us to a KING which was an inconvenience because we had too many people for a King. I had to send my child over to one of my friends rooms that booked there as well. There was also ants in the air conditioner. I most likely wouldn't stay here again.

Front desk staff was great. Made friends with us and the kids and were happy to see each other all weekend. Breakfast was good. Room was clean. Pool was warm. Everyone we interacted with was very helpful and friendly.

Clean, family friendly hotel. Friendly helpful staff and great breakfast buffet. Definitely recommend for the money.

Booked my night for a "staycation" for my wife and I. We have 3 kids including 6 week old twins, and was able to get my mom to stay the night with the kids so we could do a date night and get our first full night sleep in six weeks. Arrived to the holiday inn a little after 11 pm after attending a work event and dinner with friends. While checking in the gentleman at the desk asked for my credit card that I reserved the room for and my driver's license. He looked at my license and said, "oh you're a local, you can not stay here." I laughed at what I thought was a poor attempt at a joke, and replied, "yep, we're just trying to get a good night sleep with out kids for the first time in a while." He replied, " it doesn't matter you're a local and are not allowed to stay here". I was beyond confused. He started telling me it was their policy and gave me other places I could try. In shock, I asked why locals are not allowed to stay there? He said, "because they use DOPE and PARTY." I am 35 years old, CLEAN shaven (got a hair cut for our date!), nicely dressed, with my wife sitting in a $60k vehicle outside. Not to mention I own a house 5 minutes from the hotel. For this gentlemen to insinuate I was booking the room to PARTY and do DOPE is downright disgusting and embarrassing. I am looking forward to speaking with IHG un the level of unprofessionalism I experienced and their downright absurd "POLICY". I will never stay at another IHG again!!

I enjoyed my stay they were very understanding and accepting of my pet and kids. They had good free breakfast choices included in stay. I love their pancakes and healthy options. Very clean and even have dove as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Safety is very good and there is a showmars across the street and other restaurants near by if you take the back road. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and helpful. Will use them again in future.
