Gurney’s Star Island Resort & Marina

This entire property is beautiful and an absolute getaway. The complimentary boat tour was lovely and the perfect send off on my last day. While I enjoyed my stay over all, it feels that this property still has some kinks to workout. Between being sexually harassed by a dock worker on my walk to the front desk, no clear room service (despite calling multiple times, screaming children, paper thin walls, WiFi that exists but at low speeds, and little to no hot water… I really struggle to justify the price of this option.

This place was redone so beautifully! The staff was incredible. Everything was so clean! We can’t wait to go back! We loved that it was even per friendly! Tim from the concierge was the most genuine person, leaving my kids a hand written note that they will never forget. Can’t say enough great things about this place! We stay in Montauk every year, this stay easily was my favorite one yet! Even the American girl dolls we brought were treated like royalty by the pool!

We loved our stay at the MYC! It was so convenient and they had soooo many amenities which makes the price very reasonable. I would recommend to anyone with kids. We look forward to coming back here some day.

Upgraded property pools, small family beach friendly & helpful staff

Everything was wonderful…only complaint was the beds…I called the hotel to see what size they were for a double room and was told queen but they were fulls…not very comfortable for 2 kids and 2 adults.

This resort was so relaxing at this time of year and the views are spectacular. Our waterfront room was kept so clean and the ambience was so calming and peaceful. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating to our family of 5… the 5th family member being our little pup! So happy they are pet friendly! We’re planning our next visit back… so fun!

Beautifully secluded, perfect for families. The beds are very uncomfortable though maybe new mattresses won’t be bad. Because everything els is so nice that is the only unfortunate thing .

Disappointed in case this helps anyone else considering going here beautiful resort just very limited in regard to the pool and the beach no spots available was not able to sit there with myself and my children because the beach chairs and the pool chairs were all taken and when one emptied out I was told it was reserved so you would want to check ahead of time regarding reserving pool seats.

This hotel is beautiful and clean. The room and balcony was very spacious. I loved the size of the bathroom and the vanity and storage space provided. Unfortunately, the front desk was not welcoming and the bar staff was dry. However the bell boy was extremely friendly- offering my 2 year old a lobster toy upon arrival. A map of the facility would have been useful as the beach and second pool could have easily been missed if we didn’t do some exploring. We also found a nice little playground on site which was perfect for our son. It would have been nice to have been told where everything was upon checkin or have been provided a map. I read online room service was available, but no menu was provided in the room. It was difficult navigating the hotel with our stroller because there’s a lot of stairs. The beach was small but so perfect for our son. The water was clear and shallow. Bring shoes for the water for the little ones as there were lots of rocks. There was no one to greet us at the beach right away but a few minutes later a man came by and offered towels and bottled water which was great. After that, they came by just about every hour to ask if we needed anything. It was interesting that someone was not available the whole time. There is nothing walking distance from the hotel but everything is about a 10 min drive. Overall , we really enjoyed our stay and would come again. I just hope the friendliness of the staff and the service would improve.

We all (six of us) had an amazing time! You arrive and immediately you feel welcomed and ready to enjoy the beautiful views, pools, beach and restaurants located right on property! We, my sister-in-law and I went with 4 kids ages 8 - 15. There was so much to do! My son loved kayaking and all the kids loved the pool and paddleboats. At night, toasting marshmallows in the fire pits were a great summertime treat! The seashells that Matt decorated the check in area with were a really nice touch! Can't wait to go back! Highly recommended!
