Stayed at the hotel for a family wedding. Saratoga State Park is amazing! The history, the grounds, and the opportunity to be outside are unbeatable. The hotel is a little older and the walls are not as sound proof as newer hotels. Noise at night of people walking in the hallway and opening and shutting room doors can keep you up. It is a pet friendly hotel so if you like dogs they are everywhere.

Always enjoy this hotel and have been going since I was a child - the only thing was I asked them not to put me by the elevator and they put me in the room right next to the elevator.... noise wasn't horrible but I could definitely hear a droning sound.

Overall we had a good stay. We could hear the family in the room next to us, which wasn't great. Also, certain aspects of the room we're dated and not well maintained (the toilet was rather old, the dresser was busted up, things like that). But the grounds are beautiful and the bed was comfortable.

We took the kids to Saratoga Springs to see a show at SPAC and this hotel was perfect. Clean, comfy beds, and a short walk over to the concert. Would definitely stay again!

My husband and I loved our two nights in the Gideon Putnam. We were in Saratoga to visit old family friends and neighbors of mine from childhood. I felt like a big shot staying in this august and renowned landmark. Our room was built on a large scale unheard of today. From the hall, we walked into a foyer. Off that was a door that led to the spacious main room and bathroom. Another door opened to a huge walk-in closet, where I kept the suitcases stretched out and hung clothes. What luxury! The third door would have connected to the room next door had we arranged to stay with more family. I loved everything about staying here. It was magical.

Great property, horrible room (No.326.) Prepaid $500+ for 2 rooms (325 and 326) for special family event. 326 abutted an elevator shaft and the noise and vibration woke us up all night long. Ill-fitting blind and no black-out curtains didn’t help. No sleep!! Desk staff offered to refund us the $32 “amenities” fee. All three of us were trashed ahead of important day. No recourse, off course. Stay away!

They totally messed up my bill which I am still trying to fix. The hotel booklet had dried particles of food all over it. When I asked for late checkout I was given an extra half hour but then the maid began unlocking the door 1/2 hour before I was due to check out even with the do not disturb sign in door. The mirror in bathroom door was covered with child handprints.
